“I didn't stay here but walked past during the Ice Festival. It seems they're working on renovations to bring this piece of history back to life! I hope they really put 100% effort into this because the basic design of the building can turn into into a historic landmark like Hotel Colorado. Love cripple creek and what they're doing even if it is more of a gambling town like Black Hawk or Central City. They still preserving what true America was, Ambitious. Look forward to seeing this place open and staying a couple nights !!!”

“Can’t say enough good things about McGills hotel/casino. Shout out to Andrew, the head chef at both Dynamite Dick’s and McGill’s Pint & Platter. He did an executive meal for my wife and I that was a perfect 10. His passion for that meal was obvious from the opening plate.(pi’s saladier (the savory ur-pizza from Provence) to the butter-seared haddock on a yellow beet purée with steamed Belgian endive, through Colorado lamb chops, to the awesome chocolate pot-au-feu with raspberries and crème chantilly. It topped $500 meals we’ve had at high end resorts. Also, everyone on staff, in every department were just super. They make this Colorado-style establishment a place we totally love. Added plus: the drive up State road 67 is gorgeous at any time of the year. The dudes at the DOT keep it plowed and safe in winter.”

“That was the best Elk burger that I have ever tasted! Our waitress Kathy was great and very helpful. The restaurant is clean and the prices are reasonable. The carving around the bar area is amazing and the copper ceiling and stained glass really give a warm atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. I highly recommend!”

“Hotel: Had a great time and was surprised how nice the room was. I was expecting maybe motel level but it was much better. Looking at the escape plans, it looks like they each are very different in size and layout. We got one on the outside and it had some character in a good way. Every staff member we met seemed to be in good spirits and a bunch seemed really happy to be there-so that made it even nicer. My only caution is that the room allows a lot of sound from downstairs and outside in. They even gave earplugs. Personally, I didn’t find it too bad but maybe others will appreciate the earplugs to sleep with. Casino: I like the casino here. It’s nice and comfortable. The grill seems like a great choice if you’re in town. We’ve been a few times and are always happy with the portion size and value, plus it’s pretty tasty. My only complaint is that they are not very good at advertising their member deals and free play is basically only to sign up. I’d probably return more often if they sent me a $5 free play every once in a while - maybe for birthday or even ever. Also, they apparently do a bunch of deals with the grill and the like (2 for 1 or 1/2 off food with some amount of play), but the only way to know is to have the grill staff tell you (by chance) or you see an ad in the bathroom. Maybe send me an email or something? Turns out these are regular events and I didn’t know it until we were there, even after visiting their website to plan my trip. Not enough to bump a star, just maybe a way they could get me to show up more often.”

“One of my favorite casinos in Cripple Creek. Always a decent selection of slot machines, newer tv and movie themed machines and 3D machines. Wait service here seems to be better than at some of the others, the cafe inside has always been a go to of mine for late night meals, and they have some great specials. Overall they offer a lot that one ups the competition. I also got a mudslide from a waiter here, I dont know his name, but he told me it was gonna be good, and it was absolutely amazing.”

“My first time at the Casino & hotel was super fun. The rooms are comfy & quiet. You can get anywhere in town from here. The service was exceptional & the food was delicious. “Nana's nook at Cripple Creek was so kind to us today. First time visiting the town, and we were unprepared for an event outside that day. Our son was in need of a jacket. What we thought would be a road trip and nothing more, turned into a nice little hike through town. But it was cold. The owners were so kind to us. And understanding. I will forever remember these kind people. We ended up getting a cute little pull over so my son could play outside on the bouncy castles. The quality of these clothes are wonderful. If you can't make it to buy something, go in and have a chat with the owners. They are wonderful people.”
