“Amazing trail in the mountains above Colorado Springs. Getting there is not for the faint of heart. Most of the drive is, at best, a car and a half wide. But, worth the drive. Breath-taking scenery. Can be moderately traveled on the main part. But once you turn off to the actual trail, it thins out.”

Rock Creek Open Space

Address: Unnamed Road, Lafayette, CO 80026, USA

“This location is a very nice, double wide trail with crushed/pulverised gravel that traverses an area adjacent to new apartments and a large medical complex. Due to the location, there's very little to no shade along the 4 mile stretch of trail (and for the most part, there is no water in the creek!). Maps are located at the main point of entry (across the medical facilities); otherwise, the trail lacks any mileage markers. To be honest, you really can't get lost, as the trail is very visible and truly is a high plains desert.”
