It's selection on high end shoes is the best in the city. Items tend to cater to 30 year old plus woman. There is a small men's section. As with all consignment shops it may be hit or miss as far as sizes. Love this shop. Not on a metro line but there is a bus.”

“As one of the few small grocers in the neighborhood, Menick's consistently delivers. The owners and staff are helpful and friendly and there is a good selection of perishable and non-perishable goods. They are almost always open (9am to 9pm). They even have some fresh fruit and vegetables and are receptive if you ask for them to consider stocking more items. They just renovated the interior of the store to have even more offerings. The prices are good too. For example, last weekend I was able to buy everything I needed for a backyard BBQ garden party including hot dogs, buns, chips, ice, juices, beer, and ice cream. They even gave me some free popsicle sticks to help me label where I planted the seeds in my garden. I recommend Menick's Market for any of your snacking or basic staple local grocery needs.”

“Good paint department, housewares, and hardware. If this store doesn't have it, they will order it for you. You can look on the TrueValue website to see the full selection available for ship to store. We recently needed to get a quart of paint for touch-ups on a wall with paint purchased at another store. By the other store's color name alone, their computer was able to precisely match the formula. We can barely tell where the patched paint is on our wall. The owner and staff are extremely nice and helpful. I don't mind at all paying a few bucks more for some items to keep this convenient local store in business in Southwest. This hardware store is hands-down the best thing that has opened in The Wharf for the neighborhood.”

This is not due to mere coincidence, but the thankless efforts of a diligent, kind staff. Don't get me wrong, they'll quickly handle any of the craziness the street sends in their door. The difference is they'll just do it in an efficient, yet endearing manner that keeps me coming back. Also, whatever your late-night menu choice may be, the donuts are usually on point, especially the chocolate bars.”
