Hidden gem. Hiking trails all over up to 16 miles. 3 different length loop trails. 2 campgrounds, 1 for family’s. Trails are well marked and maintained. This area also has horseback trails, I think like 40 miles with camping and over night facilities for horses.
I will be visiting this area again very soon.
Showers and bathroom facilities are kept up with pretty good. Potable water and fire rings available for most sites. Warning flies and gnats are terrible all day!
This is such a magical place. There are always animals to see on your lovely drive through the woods.
The campground was beautiful. I was amazed at the accommodation made for horses. I'd live to see more places like that. The management folks were off putting and rather rude, but I imagine dealing with clueless campers like me all the time can become frustrating. Over all a pisitive experience. This was taken from my window this morning at dawn. Just beautiful!

this used to be a great place to ride. not anymore.. it is filled with Non equestrian, homeless living in cars, and drug dealers, and folks so high on drugs they run around all hours of the night thru camps. it's not safe, parking for equestrians is extremely limited and not in the least enforced for non equestrians. too bad it's gotten so bad here.
