Island Tropics Restaurant

I find myself constantly supporting this restaurant because it’s a black owned, family restaurant in an area of Jacksonville that’s considered a food desert without healthy options. Here you can get homemade authentic Jamaican food that’s affordable with huge portion sizes. The large size platters have enough food on them to feed three people. I just wish the food was more seasoned. Everything is always hot and fresh. The young lady who usually takes orders has poor customer service skills that needs improvement. She will walk past you without asking if you’ve been helped and will not even say “I’ll be right with you” as a courtesy. But you can tell it’s just her personality. The young man who has taken my order twice is always polite and patient with me. Overall, I will continue supporting this restaurant because it’s a great Jamaican restaurant. They have options to dine in or take your food to go.

The food is always good,not a lot of parking, so chose wisely when parking. Customer service is an 8.
