Very authentic! Absolutely the best tamales I have ever been served. My husband had the chile relleno and spoke very highly of it. I was surprised at how hot the salsa was that they brought to the table with chips but my husband thought it was fantastic!

This place is a hidden gem!!! A must if you are in the area! Authentic Mexican food. Lots of flavor. House made chips and salsa served with your order. The salsa is HOT but also very flavorful! Service was great. I asked my server to recommend a dish and she recommended the Taco Billia?? Not sure if that is correct. But ask for it! Barbacoa onions cilantro and cheese. You can taste the love in this food! Will definitely be back any chance I get! Oh and there is a store attached as well. I hear the fresh pastries are amazing as well. I’ll stop there next!

I'm from originally from southern California. Mexican food is normally a hit and miss in Florida. However, the Mega Mercado brings me back to home. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Fresh tortilla chips and salsa are brought to your table when you arrive. And you can order a number of different aguas frescas / beverages. I usually order tacos de carne asada but I have tried the tortas, sopes, chimichanga, tostadas, campechana, tacos birria, flautas, menudo, etc.

Needless to say this place does not disappoint. I have read ppl complain about the service but I've never had issues. If you come during the rush hour, expect to wait.....but it's worth it.

Mega Mercado is one of my favorite restaurants in Lakeland. The food is always on point and the portions are on the edge of extreme. Their chips are pretty much the best around.
If I can give you any advice, it would be to not go hungry. If you arrive hungry, you’ll be reaching hangry status before you get your food. It’s a super busy place and it’s very much organized chaos. I’ve come to expect this so it doesn’t bother me. The end result makes it all worth it so definitely give Mega Mercado a try!
