“Oh my gosh who doesn't love this Dairy Queen!?!! This is one of the few left between Mt. Dora and The Villages. It has everything you want and expect from a DQ. Its run well you can tell by how courteous the employees are and how clean the restaurant and restrooms are kept. We always enjoy stopping there whether for a meal or just a Blizzard or another of the delectable ice cream goodies they offer! Cant wait to go back and sure wish there was one closer to The Villages!!!”

“My husband and I had lunch at the Goblin today for the first time. The interior was welcoming and tasteful. There was piped music, but it was soft and unlike so many other places was not intrusive. A quiet conversation was possible, so refreshing! Our waiter was attentive and explained the specials. He was able to recite the ingredients and give an opinion. The bisque was excellent. We each had a special not on the menu. The jerk pork was tasty but not spicy, it would be fine for an older person. The shrimp salad sandwich had a really nice spread/sauce. We did not have to wait for the check either. We'll try something different next time, but not the bisque, that's a keeper!”

They have great lunch specials and the staff here is awesome. Highly recommend their French Onion soup, I get it every time. The gyro lunch entree is huge too. You will not be disappointed at all. Bartender was amazing as well! Definitely recommend for someone looking for Mediterranean or Italian cuisine!”

“My husband and I had a date day in Mt Dora, Fl and went to the Lakeside Inn for lunch. It's a beautiful historical building, built in 1883. The food is fantastic and so is the service. (Thank you Michelle and kitchen!) I got the Monte Cristo sandwich. It comes with a dipping sauce made of mandarin oranges and raspberry sauce. I never thought of dipping a sandwich with meat and cheese in a sauce like that, but it was amazing! The whole area around the Inn was beautiful and peaceful. A nice break from where we live in Florida! We would definitely go back!”

“I see reviews about the business hours and I ran into an occasion where I missed the updates on the movement of the business and encountered a locked door on arrival. However if people from out of town are going you should always call and make sure a family owned business will be open during the time you are going!! No matter what kind of business it is! I decided to message and make sure they where open the last time I wanted to go and got a very quick response letting me know they where open that morning! Thank you for that! My experience at the Crystal Closet was very peaceful and enjoyable. I looked around at all the crystals and stones trying to find the one I came in for. Their daughter was the most adorable and friendly girl I have ever met and the family was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly! The only problem I ran into was not being able to choose which pair of earrings to get because all of the hand made jewelry was gorgeous! SOOOOOOO being a girl I decided to treat myself and buy both! Thank you for the great experience and good vibes!”

“Taco's were fresh and really good. We had the chicken and the steak on flour tortillas and the veggie plate. Also enjoyed the hot sauces they had to offer. Corona was nice and cold to top it all off! Our waitress was very welcoming and friendly. We also liked the old school juke box. I passed this place many times and never stopped in due to the exterior appearance, but I'm glad I did. We will be back!”

They were very busy when we called (didn't have a reservation) but Candy went above and beyond in accommodating us with a nice table in a cozy corner in the bar area when we arrived. She was great with her assistance over the phone and just as warm and helpful when we arrived after a delayed Uber ride. Our waitress Sherri was wonderful as well, the menu has a delicious variety of items and a unique cheese plate as an appetizer which we really enjoyed. Definitely going back soon!”

“This was our first time attending the seafood festival. Since the event ran until 9 pm (rain or shine) we decided to wait until 6 pm to attend. We got there about 6:20 and 80% of the tents were closed or closing. There had been light rain but it was a rain or shine event. There was a comfortable size crowd in attendance. Why did all the tents close? Disappointing! Update: Went back the next day in the morning and it was great. Everything was open and the food was excellent with several good seafood choices. They have train, bus and golf cart shuttles. Many great vendors displaying clothing, art, and other merchandise. Best time was a short ride on the train for $5.”
