I was a member here for 3-4 years. I lived in Tampa, about a 1 hour drive. Whenever the church doors were open, I’d make the drive—

Because, I absolutely love this church.

I came here as a young single lady at 24 yo. I had many struggles since I was the only Christian in my family. I had a desire to know more about God but I wasn’t getting fed at other churches... I am thankful that God led me here to learn more and grow as a new Christian.

Pastor Tillis, Mrs. Tillis, and everyone else at the church have been such a great help to me. They’ve encouraged me to stay in the fight and to focus on what is most important— the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My love and awe for the Lord and His Word have increased so much while I was under Pastor Tillis. He truly does give you the Bible and tell you like it is.

SERVICE, PASSION, COURAGE, ACTION
I love how the men, the women, and the children serve the Lord in some way through choir, nursery, cooking for fellowship meals (Publix fried chicken at all potlucks haha), prayer group (on Thursdays), frequent church-wide evangelism (passing out Gospel tracts, witnessing, etc.), nursing home visits, Sunday Bible School (seniors, general, teens, and youth), My Christmas Radio app, The Soul Trap podcast, and, so many other things. It’s quite exciting to be a part of this church, seriously! It’s better than those churches with the rock-climbing and fog machines, lol.

GOSPEL, TRUTH, DOCTRINE, BIBLE
They reach the lost. And that’s what it’s all about. Jesus Christ. Sharing His story to others. If you want to hear old-fashioned preaching, deep teaching, and victorious praising and singing, you’ll find all of that here! On Sunday evenings, there are also Q & A’s. Not many pastors provide this as an opportunity. And if they do, their knowledge of the Bible can be disappointingly shallow. If you want to understand the New Testament AND the Old Testament more... come here. Pastor Tillis is a really good shepherd who feeds God’s word to his congregation. I loved learning about the King James Bible, dispensationalism, apologetics, and, other goodies.

LOVE, FRIENDSHIP, FAMILY
In an attempt to conclude my fondest bits of admiration for this church... My favorite memories are with my friends at Pastor Tillis’ home around a bonfire. We would talk about spiritual things, ask questions, tell stories, and laugh a bunch. Suncoast Baptist has a big heart for young people and they invest in them. That meant so much to me because I didn’t quite have that with my own family.

They have watched me grow up over the years... Today, I am married and I get to serve the Lord with a man who visited Suncoast Baptist to preach. The Lord definitely orchestrated this from beginning to end. I still get to see my church family whenever I come down from NC. They still continue to support me and keep in touch with me. This church has greatly enriched my life and helped me pursue the Lord’s will. And I know it can be a help to you and your walk with the Lord, too.

Finally found a church not afraid to preach the word. Looking forward to making this our church home.
