  This is a beautiful nature preserve. The walk along the bridge/trail is gorgeous and you can see so many varieties of wildlife and plants. The lake view is gorgeous and peaceful. The education center is full of information and helpful people. This is one of our family's favorite places to enjoy nature.

  This is by far one of the best nature preserves that I have ever been to. The walk itself is very nice, only about 2/3 a mile, and it ends in a beautiful view of lake Apopka. We saw all kinds of snakes, birds, and other wildlife, as well as dozens of kinds of plants and flowers. This is a great afternoon trip idea.

  I love visiting here. There's always animals and so many beautiful plants to see. They have education rooms too with a "touch table" where kids can touch and learn about bones and other things as well as books to read and some spiders and a rat snake. Also the scorpions are cool to look at under the blacklight. They have trails and a boardwalk out to Apopka Lake. Free parking and admission. No dogs allowed.

  Awesome place to take the kids and get them off their iPhones for a few hours. Saw a large gator and her babies near the end of the boardwalk!

  First time visiting the Oakland Nature Preserve and was happy with the photography opportunities and the walk down to Lake Apopka. Take your time on the boardwalk, if you walk quickly down the trail, you will miss the wildlife hiding out (gators, turtles, frogs, and snakes) On the way back, and close the to the trail entrance, I spotted a gopher tortoise. It's a nice place to spend an hour or two, when the weather is pleasant!
