Morris Tree Service

I contacted Morris Tree Service to remove a small oak on the easement due to it beginning to damage the sidewalk. I had picked them since they’d obtain an arborist report and would perform the service for it to be cut, removed, grind the stump.

When Dan came to provide the initial quote, he said they’d also remove the mulch from the grinding as well as put some soil and sod on top to complete it. This was important to me. I wasn’t using a company that didn’t do it start to finish. My goal was start to finish with a single company. They were about 20% more than the other companies I considered but I wanted quality work to be done and was willing to pay more for it.

The service that was actually performed was great. They completed the removal and grinding the stump but they never showed proof of an arborist report and didn’t remove the mulch, lay soil, and sod. The crew explained that they don’t drop sod so I looked at my quote again and he was right. There was nothing outlining the items that weren’t complete. I was told, by Dan at the time he came out for a quote, that the job would be 1.5 hours but crew was in and out in 45 minutes. So, I take ownership for not seeing that on the quote.

So, I was over promised and results were under delivered. I spent an additional 3 hours digging up the mulch myself, bagging it, and then another 2 hours to go to Lowe’s and back for supplies and put soil and sod down myself. That 20% more I paid ended up being for even less work than others were to provide.

I’ve got postpartum health problems, including carpal tunnel in both hands. I’m dealing with treatment t for that and a newborn so hiring a company to do it all and then not get it completed was dissatisfying as a consumer, not to mention my hands were a problem for days after that shoveling and additional work.

I’m giving 4 stars because the job that WAS done was great. I’d still recommend Morris Tree Service and I’d consider using them again if and when the quote outlines what was requested.

Watched Morris Tree service at their finest today with taking our next door neighbors oak tree. Crew was professional and cleanup was great. Recommending to sub-divisions within East Lake Woodlands.

Morris Tree Service did an awesome job on my two 50' palms. I had plants and small oriental trees all around them no damage and they cleaned up so good you could not tell they were here.

Morris Tree Service was amazing from the time they came out to do the estimate to the actual removal. James was very detailed and easy to understand throughout the process. His work crew treated us very well and worked hard to take care of our needs. They pleasant, on time, and showed care for our home. The timeframe from start to finish was amazing. We had a pine tree that was extremely large and in an impossible spot to remove requiring a expert skilled team. The tree towered over our home and neighbors property . They went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Great family run business. I would absolutely recommend for future quality work.

Tommy and the crew arrived ahead of scheduled time, in addition to a courtesy text. I was genuinely impressed at their work ethic. Not a moment was wasted. They removed all that was asked plus left the area clean, as if they were never there.
