We hiked very little of this area due to water and some road construction where they have closed portions of the preserve. I will certainly go back as there is a great deal of area you can cover and we did enjoy how untouched a lot of the areas looked. We were somewhat lost and could not get the maps to match to anything we were hiking, that might be just user error, but we are typically pretty good with these things. Better signage would be a real plus. Otherwise, very natural space, no crowds and the campers looked to be enjoying the spot. It would be great to camp and hike. We did several miles and did not even get a small portion of ground covered.
Great place to walk, ride horses or camp. Took a 2yr old and 10yr old out on the trails for a walk and the trees gave off so much shade it was so peaceful and beautiful. The kids did great too! Walked the whole way
If you want to learn something about Florida as it was probably will never be again you should come to the tract. This is a beautiful place to experience the Florida of 100 years ago. I love it here and return often.
Great place to camp, relax, fish and get away. Downfall is the bathroom. It's enclosed yes but smells pretty bad and isn't the cleanest and be sure to bring your own toilet paper. 😆 They do have a old fashion hand pump well (very cool) to get water, otherwise no running water. Overall it's a beautiful place and kinda secluded which we found to be a plus, as it is not over crowded or over traveled. This is the closest to natural nature you can get in the area. Home to a few interesting fish and alligators too. We will definitely visit again. 🌲🏞️🐟🐊🐢🦝🐰
Very quiet and there are plenty of places to walk and fish.
