First Step Therapy

Ms. Kristen at First Step Therapy on Overlook is a phenomenal SLPA! She is creative, patient, and has the perfect personality to work with children. She is able to model many vocabulary words in Spanish for the children as well. I have been very pleased with the growth she has achieved with the speech and language skills of her caseload. Many of her patients are now able to do so many more functional tasks now such as cleaning up, following commands, and making requests. I have heard nothing but positive comments about how excited her patients are to come see Ms. Kristen. She is an extremely talented SLPA and an asset to the company.

Mrs Sarah has worked very hard with my grandson on his speech, and he is doing a lot better! She works with him and doesn’t force him so he’s very comfortable with Mrs Sarah! And is excited every week for his appointments!

I can not say enough great things about First Step Therapy at the Overlook location in Winter Haven. The supervising SLP, Mrs. Sarah, is incredible. She gives parents hand outs on how to promote speech and language growth with their children. She is kind, compassionate, and hard working. She views the children's success as her own success. During evaluations, she explains to the parents in a gentle and simplified way what their child's strengths and weaknesses are. Her evaluation reports are thorough with excellent observations and test descriptions. The goals that she constructs are carried over by 3 different SLPAs who follow her expertise. She has over 10 years of experience working with children with speech and language needs in the Polk County area. She is an outstanding clinical supervisor of speech and language therapy who puts her heart and soul into achieving success for every patient on her caseload.

We love First steps! Everyone is great but Jasmine and Felicia truly go over and beyond and make my baby feel so much love. He gets so excited to go everytime. You can tell who has a passion for working with children here and I wouldn't trust my son's speech sessions with anyone else!

Felicia Tilak is an exceptional SLPA. She is organized, patient, and hardworking. She has a wealth of experience working with children with severe behavioral needs. She has never missed one session with a patient in her 8 months of employment with FST at the Overlook location in Winter Haven. One patient of hers went from saying 5 words to 50 in three months.
