  John was great to work with; he was attentive, compassionate and professional, while at the same time being very personable. With very little time to work with the week between Christmas and the new year, he was able to help our family plan and execute a simple yet beautiful send-off for my mom. We are grateful for his attention to details we would not have thought of, and for going above and beyond what we expected. I am forever grateful and highly recommend Altman-Long in DeBary.

  When my mother-in-law unexpectedly passed, I called nearly every funeral home in the area. Altman-Long was the first to return my call (on a Sunday) and was exceptional at walking me through the steps of the process. They were available to meet first thing the next morning to plan the details of the service and couldn't have been more helpful. Everything we talked about was executed flawlessly and exceeded expectations. The services are held at a nearby church which is very beautiful and much nicer than the spaces of many other funeral homes in the area. Bill did a fantastic job with the embalming. Jon showed compassion and understanding through the entire process and is exactly the kind of person you want to be working with in times like this. Their team put together a beautiful website to honor my mother-in-law and share the details of the service. Also, they put together a memorial video, guestbook, payer cards, etc. which reflected her interests and provided a keepsake which my wife loved. Throughout the process, I had tons of questions and Jon was more than happy to talk me through everything providing as much information as was needed. I felt like Jon truly cared about our family and went above and beyond to ensure all needs were met. As we live out of town, we wanted to spread the ashes as a family and upon our request, Jon made sure all documentation was in order to ensure the cremation was performed in time for that to be a possibility (others I talked to said it could take weeks). I can’t say enough good things about Altman-Long and I wouldn’t consider doing business with any other funeral home. Thanks again Jon and Bill for everything!

  My family and I cannot thank Bill and Jon enough with Altman-Long funeral home with the process of the recent unexpected passing of my mother. They both took us step by step with getting everything planned and had a beautiful service to remember my mother and her life. Jon was very empathetic and his compassion truly showed, and was very much appreciated. You cannot go wrong with Altman-Long.

  John and his wife made our mother's celebration of life ceremony so touching and memorable. From planning the ceremony to the graveside service, John took meticulous care of our family during this difficult time. His compassion and attention to detail was impressive and most appreciated. Planning a funeral is never easy, but having John and his staff guide us each step of the way, brought us much peace and comfort. I wholeheartedly recommend John and Altman Long Funeral home to honor your loved one.

  I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Altman-Long and Jon. I’ve never had to plan a funeral before, and to top it off it was for my mother who passed unexpectedly. Jon guided me through the whole process, asking tons of questions of what my mother loved and what her passions were. He was able to fully understand what would be the best way to honor my mothers life without even knowing her. He was kind and compassionate, and communicated very well throughout this difficult process. We were working on a budget and he gave us options to work with. We never once felt that they were only concerned with selling us a funeral. As far as her wake, it was beautifully done and we really felt my mother was honored the way she deserved. The memorial video, the set up of her photos, and the memorial throw that was made was stunning. We chose a closed casket so I can’t speak on her appearance. The last thing you want to do is worry about things not getting done but we had zero worries and everything went seamless. I was so happy to chose Altman-long to celebrate my mothers life. You can feel Jon’s sincerity and good heart throughout this process and that makes all of the difference to me. When the time comes again, I will be using their services again without hesitation. I
