“Camped at Big Flats with my family the weekend of April 15th. The campsite is very nice with a fair amount of shade in the spots. The sites are a little small compared to other state parks, but not tiny. They are trying to grow new foliage between the sites and it was pretty clear there was a lot of damage to the trees from Hurricane Ian in 2022. The host, Peter, was friendly and helpful. Other campers were respectful of the quiet time. Bathrooms were dated but very clean. I would stay here again but probably wait until the weather is cooler as it was very hot in the day and there is no water area like a lake or spring to cool off. The Myakka Lake is FILLED with gators so there is no swimming. Incredible sunsets from just down the street over Big Flat Marsh where we saw deer, turkey and gators.”

“The location is perfect and the home is very well appointed. It's clear that a lot of careful thought went in to creating a relaxing beach getaway. The view from the deck was stellar with the beach just a few steps away so we could come and go throughout the day without having to carry a bunch of stuff down to the beach each day. We're a family that likes to cook and we were pleasantly surprised to find everything we needed in the kitchen to produce some memorable meals. The beds and other furnishings are beach appropriate and very comfortable. Kathleen was responsive and easy to work with. Our stay was truly a pleasant experience from start to finish.”

“Stayed here for a girls trip 5/14/23. Had a wonderful stay. The room was clean, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. the salt water pool was awesome and larger than most island pools. Free parking. Close to restaurants, bars and shopping. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We have already reserved our room for next year.”

“My girlfriend and I got the groupon package for a massage and facial. We upgraded to the sports massage for an extra $10 and it was very much worth it. The amenities are very nice, it's kept very clean and the locker room areas are fantastic. The staff their was extremely friendly and courteous and the service was top notch. You even get access to the pool and the ambience is wonderful. The only gripe was that the steam room was cold and not very "steamy".”

“The new owners have taken great care to provide a comfortable, clean and yet classy little getaway. They also provided great customer service and it was easy to contact owners for questions and assistance. The attention to detail in the rooms did not go unnoticed. The towels were high quality and the bedding and bed were very comfortable. The shower pressure was great. Even the kitchenette was well stocked with quality utensils and dishes. Even the keurig coffee selection was well thought out with organic options. And the decor was lovely!”

“I was only there to visit family for a few hours. The view was wonderful. I did see that there was an office and I went over at least 4 -5 times to see if I could get more information about how I can book a room for future vacation and had questions about the tree house but it was closed the whole time for my visit. Also, parking was very very limited. 1 car per room it seemed. The view was breathing taking. The fridge in the room looked a little uncomfortable on how it was sitting in a untraditional space in the kitchen.”

“What a wonderful place! We spent 12 nights in Cabana #4 in May/June of 2022 with our family (2 adults, 2 kids) and we absolutely loved it, our kids called it our "casita". :) The major perks of this place are the closeness to the beach (about 2 minutes walking distance), the wonderful heated pool (where our two kids spent endless hours), the great equipment (umbrellas, deck chairs, wave boards, beach towels, Weber gas grill etc.), the outside showers, the parking space on the premises, the fact that the place is well kept/clean and the overall coziness. Moreover the service is pretty outstanding. I called in about a few things (gas was empty and some waveboards were damaged) and the guys at Island Vacation quickly responded and delivered everything. I guess it would fair to say that the decoration is quite tacky (lots of animal figurines and pictures on the walls) which some visitors maybe dislike, and the bathrooms definitely need a rework. But after all this is not what you are here for. The cabanas are located right in the middle of Holmes Beach, there is a Publix, CVS and other local places in walking distance and as I said - the closeness to the beach is just perfect! We were really sad to leave but we will for sure return!! Thanks!!”

The TV was a flat screen appropriate size and had full Spectrum cable service. Very comfortable bed. If you want a fancy four or five-star hotel you will be disappointed. If you would like a comfortable room with a small complete kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove with oven and a good value it is a great choice. I would go back.”

“We spent 3 nights here. The water is beautiful, the beach is pristine and the grounds are wonderfully tropical. There are plenty of beach chairs and 2 gas grills. The pool is huge with tables, chairs and umbrellas. We were in unit 34, a one bedroom. It was clean and well furnished. The full kitchen had everything a person could possibly want, even a rolling pin. It was quiet even though full. For us, it was heavenly.”
