“Two very well maintained parks for children. All of the equipment appeared new and in very good condition. This is probably for ages 1-12, but even as an adult there were a few things that challenged me!”

“We visited the park to utilize the playground. When we arrived we found it leveled and a sign up announcing the replacement. Which looks beautiful. We love the nature trail and tennis courts”

“We took bike ride today from econ to blanchard park via the little econ trail. It was beautiful, very smooth concrete pathway right along the river with lots of birds and other people on their bikes or jogging. We stopped and fed some squirrels along the way and even saw two alligators!”

“Nice park for your four legged children. It would be nice if it had a rest room.”

“It's a nice part but there was 3 wasp nests on the playground. One of them looked new but 2 of them were pretty active and the kids running around it was upsetting them. I had to remove all 3 and I feel they shouldn't have been there if someone was keeping up with it.”

“I've seen the parking area on the side of the road for years and finally stopped to take a look today. I'm sure it's not big, but I can't wait to come back with the family. It's absolutely beautiful. It is a nature trail, so it's not wheelchair friendly, but otherwise most anybody can enjoy this wonderous hike.”

“Beautiful park with medium playground for children (swings, etc). Pretty quiet, nice to walk with pets as well.”

“Nice little park. Recently renovated restroom. Not a ton of playground equipment, but what they do have is good. Park is usually not very crowded, which is nice.”

“After a disappointing visit to The Exchange Club Park I visited DeGroff Park at the suggestion of Stephen S. Thank you so much Stephen for telling me about this gem. Located a few miles north of the Exchange Club and also located on the Intracoastal, Degroff is a beautiful example of what a Intracoastal park should look like. Degroff was land that was once owned by FIND, Florida Inland Navigation District . They use the land along the Intracoastal for holding material that they dredge from the waterway. They still own the Exchange Club Park and have recently leveled it. Broward County however bought DeGroff from them with funds from the 2000 Safe Parks and Land Preservation Bond in order to preserve more green space. Lighthouse Point acquired the land in 2003 from the county in exchange for removing the invasive species of plants. The park was designated a passive park which means that no changes can be made that will affect the natural habitat and it must remain suitable for fish, plants, and wildlife. Some residents in the area would like the park to be used for additional uses such as a dog park but the Broward County Board of County Commissioners would have to approve any changes in use. I like the park as it is in it's natural state. The parking area is much smaller than the Exchange Club. There were only a few spots at most outside a fence but it seemed adequate for a neighborhood park where most people come by foot. The park itself is beautiful. What a difference it makes when FIND does not own the land. The park is filled with lovely native trees. There is a playground, gazebo, benches, and a walking path. The sandy beach is perfect for launching a paddle board. The benches make for a relaxing spot to watch the boats drift by. Although this is a small park it is very nicely maintained. I love a water front park and this one is exceptionally nice.”

“Excellent park divided into sections depending on the size of your dog. Many people tend to ignore the signs and think they can sneak in occasion all big dog into the little dog park, But the park ranger does a fair job of keeping that under control. Park is cleaned on Wednesday, And poop bags are provided. Also nice because you can put your dog on leash and walk around South county park which is a nice hike for both 4 footed and 2 footed beings.”

“Great place for the kids and meet local LC parents. Love the gated area for the young kids. Only concern, keep the dogs outside of the play area, or pick up your dogs poop. Small children don't look for dog poop, they just play.”
