Barber Park

Address: 3701 Gatlin Ave, Orlando, FL 32812, USA

“I was at the dog park for the first time tonight and loved it! Our dog had a great time and the other dogs were well-behaved. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is there were at least 2 owners who let their dogs run loose outside of the designated leash-free area. Very dangerous, and against the rules. Otherwise, it was a great way for our dog to burn off her energy!”

Seacrest Scrub Natural Area

“One of the last protected areas east of I95 in South Florida, the Seacrest Scrub Natural Area is just big enough to transport you back to a time before we were here. There's both a concrete sidewalk path as well as beaten footpaths to follow and explore. Definitely a sanctuary and highly recommended.”

“Love this park! Came in about 45 min till closing and the ranger was nice enough to let us enter for free. Lots of fun and exciting things to do and there is a path from the park strait to the beach, don’t have to even cross the road so its safer for all your loved ones to cross. Ill be bringing my family here from now on. Love parks and this one by far is the cleanest.”

Dinky Dock Park ; County Park Public Works Department

“Beautiful waterfront with boat launch ramp and double sided dock. Roped in swimming area needs referbishment and cleanup after recent high bacteria level infestation. Bring you boat and kayak for the day and enjoy the water. But wait until they clean up the bacteria. For now come out with a book or picnic and enjoy the view of the water and the shade of the trees.”

“A beautiful nature filled park secretly tucked away in Winter Park. There are many trees to provide shade to keep you cool in the hot summer months. There aren't any tables or benches provided, so bring your own when you visit. The area is very peaceful and quiet. You can hear the nature around you such as birds and peacocks. A great place for a tranquil picnic lunch.”

Pondhawk Natural Area

Address: NW, 1501 Spanish River Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33431, USA

Park

“Nice little getaway in the middle of Boca Raton. Walking and hiking trail although not very adventurous. Trail is less than a mile, can still hear construction and traffic. Saw a bald eagle and lots of lizards. Walking trail is paved so easy for anyone. Hiking trail is sand so more of a challenge. Trails wind through scrub area, has lot of shade. Pets not allowed, seems to be the case in most of these natural areas. Was able to get my steps in by looping a few times. Parking was available but figuring out where parking was for this park was difficult. Entry seems to be a residential area until you figure out where to go. Overall got in some exercise and saw some FL scenery.”

Caloosa Park

Address: 1300 SW 35th Ave, Boynton Beach, FL 33426, USA

Park

“This park was a really nice find. I was in the area having visited nearby Seacrest Natural Area and I was looking for a place to continue walking and getting exercise. At first I thought it was just athletic fields and they do have a lot of those. There are four basketball courts, three multi purpose fields, eight lighted pickle ball courts, 16 racquetball/ handball courts, four softball fields, four tennis courts, and a roller hockey rink. It's a sports lover paradise. The real gem for me however was the 1.1 mile walking trail in the back of the park. It has 20 exercise stations along it. It runs parallel to the railroad tracks and a bike trail and under the power lines that I could hear humming above me. The trail loops around a lovely three acre lake filled with birds and stocked with fish for fishing. Other park amenities include a picnic pavilion and a playground. I saw several families having a cook out during my visit. The idyllic setting is great for walking, running, biking, or playing any one of the myriad of sports the park offers.”

Blue Jacket Park
