“This was a smaller park in safety harbor. It was very quiet and had a nice little pond with alligators, fish, and birds. It was very relaxing to just walk the loop of the park. There was also workout structures located around the park loop. It is easy to park here and had a very friendly environment.”

“Tampa really does have such a great network of dog parks. My dog and I enjoyed this park a lot. Picnic island is kind of off in a strange industrial part of south tampa. But once you are there it’s a well maintained park with picnic tables, benches, and a few hoses to wash your dog off. The area is fenced in down to the water, but as other have mentioned there is a hole in the fence at the end of the park that they patched up with plastic netting but any dog who is not afraid of water can easily wade right in and walk through it. That is my only complaint, otherwise great park and had a mix of Sandy beach and grass!”

Especially during COVID, they have been extremely attentive, always available to take my calls and to accommodate our virtual visits each Monday. Because my brother is non-mobile and non-verbal, it is really up to the staff to monitor and attend to his needs, and they have done this consistently since he first moved into Park Place. “Nice little boat ramp and access point for the river below the spillway. The roads are very rough but the ramp it's self is very good. There are long stretches of rock and sand beaches and good fishing here. The bank drops off quickly and you can usually catch crappie, sandbass, stripers, hybrids and catfish from here. Be sure to wear shoes as there is some broken glass around.”

“Great little park.. has excellent kayak launch & one-way rentals. They pick you up down-river and drive you back to your car... Tons of gators to add to your adventure floating effortlessly with the current to pickup point! Just $2 admission fee to this county park where you may also fish the river from a boardwalk.. Much better than paying $8 admission to Hillsborough River State Park where boardwalk bridges and pool have been shut down since Hurricane Irma, which was 8 years ago..😉”
