  Really nice campground on our road-trip! Stayed one night on our way to GA and on our return home stayed 2 nights!!! Staff really nice and site was perfect! Recommend highly!!!

  Second time here. Booked at the last minute and had to take two different spots for each night stay. Ranger and staff were very nice. Had one noisy car with hopped up exhaust that I wish they would have banned from the park. Really like the place. The beach is great. Had a great time. Highly recommended!!!

  Campground has small to big lots that was spacious! With 2 beaches ,2 nice playgrounds and 2 shower houses! Trees for shade!!!! Really enjoyed this Campground and would recommend! Close to lots of restaurants, shops and stores!! A convenient store very close by with friendly staff! Hope to stay again soon!!

  Our family really enjoys going to the beach here. They have a playground for kids too and free rentals of life vests. Always clean with plenty of trash cans. The attendants are very friendly also.

  The office warned us that the site was a reverse back-in but we’ve been doing this a while and had no problem with site 30. Anyone new to RVing might choose a different site. The park is lovely and the view from our site is great. I haven’t been in the restrooms so I cannot inform on those. Our site is not as level as it could be but again not an issue for us. Just added blocks on the back tires and we were good to go.
  
  Camp hosts change year to year so the prior reviews were from another group last season. We spoke with the gentleman working in the office with a few questions and he was great and answered everything we needed.
  
  For big rigs the road in is narrow but reasonable just make sure you come in through the truck route from Canton and not through the neighborhoods from Holly Springs.

Lake Allatoona's Sweetwater Creek Campground

- There are first-come, first-served campsites that cannot be reserved. You can drive out and take your chances or call the the Allatoona Lake Project Management Office at 678-721-6700 to check if there are any open campsites. Operating Season - Sweetwater Creek Campground opens in March and closes in early September.

126. Overall Rating. Sweetwater Campground is a Corp of Engineers facility located on Altoona Lake in Canton, GA. The campground is very nice. We were here during Spring Break so there were a lot of kids and they made it very noisy, even after quiet hours. If not for all the kids I would have give this 5 stars.
