“Lots of forks on the road to explore and meander along different trails. Good tree cover for almost all of the paths we explored. Agree with others that the paths are a bit muddy at various points, so appropriate footwear is advisable. Nice view of general forest, a swampy pond, and a small creek with a shallow sandy area that was nice for my baby to stick her feet in. Trail is a mix of dirt/ rickety boardwalk/ muddy spots/ stairs, so definitely NOT stroller friendly. However, it was a comfortable chill walk and it was easy to carry my 1 year old the whole time in a carrier - nothing treacherous or requiring serious climbing or balance etc. Masks required, and it was mild/moderately trafficked on the Sunday that we went.”

“Ira B Melton is great, as long as you know what to expect. It’s not a formal park with paved paths, benches, etc. It’s more of a tiny urban wilderness area crisscrossed with trails and and creeks. It’s very swampy, so expect muddy spots on the trails. Like most undeveloped areas inside the perimeter, it’s thick with invasive plants and trash from decades past, but it looks AMAZING compared to 10 years ago.”

The free indoor track is a convenient cozy alternative on rainy days so that there is no need to break your fitness routine due to inclement weather. The facility is clean and well lit. “This wonderful little neighborhood park offers a great walking or jogging path, covered pavilion with tables and seating, a wide open grassed field for whatever, and nicely finished asphalt basketball courts. And there is adequate parking in the asphalt paved lot. Occasionally we bring our lunch to enjoy a nice midday break. The facilities are always clean and well kept. And the lovely landscaping is always well maintained. This park is a wonderful asset to the local community.”

“A quiet park nested in a neighborhood off of I-85 with a covered pavilion housing 4 to 5 tables and benches. A garden is nearby. As you drive in, there are 2 tennis courts with their own small parking lot. Parking next to the small park has space for around 8 to 10 cars. The tables were not really clean and there was broken glass bits by one of the tables. Also beware of the mosquitoes as we were there close to sun down. Bring bug spray. Did not see any bathrooms.”
