However... the hair dryer did not work (which I was really counting on) and the toilet seat was very loose. We didn't complain but if we come again next year hopefully maintenance can tighten up by then.”

“I noticed before my trip the negative reviews, however my experience was very pleasurable. The staff is excellent. The room was very clean. Has a stove, fridge, and microwave. I always carry bleach with me during travel as i have yet to stay anywhere that the cleanliness was up to my standards but i didnt need my bleach. Everything was clean. Fresh toiletries, fresh linens, very nice room. Pool is clean and not crowded so the children were able to enjoy themselves. The pet fee is affordable 7.50 a day. Just a great overall experience! I will be back in May and stay here again.”

“These days it cost so much to rent apartments. The utilities are not included in most apartments but at Shady Grove RV park utilities are. The RVs come with air conditioners and heaters. And office is open late too. Managers are friendly and park is always clean. Rent is very reasonable. I love it here.”

“Arriving on Cumberland and walking the path to Greyfield was like walking in the footsteps of those long ago. This unadulterated barrier island is absolutely drenched in beauty from the moss covered massive Oaks, the Ruins, Plum Orchard, the eerily majestic wild horses. It definitely makes you want to uncover all of its past. The Inn itself gives you the feeling that you're not alone. That all who have entered are there alongside you as you discover a time past. The staff are a dedicated and greatly appreciated group of people that very well could have come from that time period. I am looking forward to one day returning and delving even deeper into its beauty. I am definitely awe stuck with Cumberland Island and all it has to offer.”

“We visited the camp grounds and stayed over night in site 6. The grounds are pretty spacious and most seem to be pretty level. It was pouring rain and thundering the night that we stayed but we had no issues. Note, there is only one real outhouse type bathroom area near the camp grounds that’s closer to sites 2 and 3. It’s a very nice bathroom though with motion lighting and kept very clean. Traveling to the restroom in the middle of the night through is not for the faint of heart so be prepared. There are a lot of water based merit badge opportunities available for the scouts including swimming, canoeing and sailing. Everyone there seems friendly and helpful. For example we were able to switch sites the day we arrived without issue since the site we were scheduled for was pretty muddy. Anyway we enjoyed our stay and recommend visiting for a fun scouting adventure”

This year, we showed up unexpectedly (we arrived a day early), and the campground worked very hard to accommodate us so we wouldn't have to turn around and head somewhere else. So very nice and professional. I love it here so much. The views, the lake, we bring our bikes and kayaks and have the best time.”

“Me and tie wife got away for one night. The house is rich in history and the town is amazing ! The house is going through som renovations and that is a good thing. The service was awesome, we bought a bottle of wine and put it in the fridge to chill. When we got back we had a note that they had put glasses in the fridge for us to chill. Great touch ! We will be back !”

“Very compact for two or more. Rooms with one bed as better space to move around, but the rooms with two beds take up all the extra space. All rooms are the same size. Price wise, it's cheaper than apartments because the utilities and cable are included in the price.”

“We stayed here for 1 month after we moved out from Utah while we were buying a house, and it was perfect for what we needed! The campground has a great location, close to shops, restaurants, etc... The campground itself has some really nice scenery. The lakes are pretty and the trails around either side are very fun to walk. The employees were always kind and helpful. A lot of people seem to be staying there on some sort of extended basis so it feels very friendly around the campground. There seem to be nice lakefront spots for people on shorter stays. Overall, highly recommend!”

“Stayed here for a retreat. Beautiful relaxing area with well taken care of gardens and lots of animals. Superb friendly service. Do yourself a favor. If you don’t like a lot of steps request a room with the least amount of steps. The food here is expensive but outstanding and worth the money. As I was eating the grits, thinking they were the best I ever had I heard someone at another table tell everyone they were the best grits he ever had. So if you are looking for somewhere to relax, rejuvenate, and find inspiration this could be the place for you!! 💕”
