“As a long time resident of the neighborhood, this Checkers deserves 5 stars. Every time I come in the employees look happy working together. Very nice people and efficient. Normally there’s 2 workers. One on the cashier and one cooking, the cashier will help the cook. They are fast & efficient. Never had any issues with the food. The only thing is I think the seating area is way too big so it can give off an empty feel. But if you have a family of 10+ there’s plenty of seats haha.”

They are friendly people and they make sure your order is correct before leaving . I sat inside and ate my dinner and took the rest home. You will miss the turn if not paying attention but it’s right next to this tire shop. Was visiting and looking to support a local black business. My friends and I stumbled upon this jewel! They had wings and fries, I had fried catfish and fries. Our food was made fresh to order! We also decided to try the cake. They had key lime pie and I had chocolate. They said the key lime pie was delicious. The chocolate cake was super chocolates, but here's the thing. Ms. Peggy Jo, one of the owners, said she makes strawberry cake. We asked her to make one the next day and she did! How awesome is that!!! Thank you so much for treating us so well. We will be back the next time we are in town.”

I wasn't sure what to expect based on some other reviews, but don't let the exterior fool you. The rooms were pretty well sound-proofed, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the song list is EXTENSIVE! I thought us booking the room from 9pm-1am would be way too much time, but we used every minute of it! Will definitely come back again to sing the night away.”

The tableside guacamole is made to order just how you prefer it! I have enjoyed the fajitas, salmon, taco salad and many other dishes and every one is cooked to perfection. You must try the desserts. They are huge and homemade. I love the cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries. It is a busy place worth the wait for a table.”
