I listened to Mark's performance today and it impressed me. This was not just a talented, highly professional, expressive performance. Mark lives through music, speaks through it, listens through it, perceives through it. He is an amazing embodiment of music.

Mark is a wonderful piano teacher and I would highly recommend him!

The students in Mark's studio range from professional musicians to novice piano players. I am a full time music teacher with a bachelors degree in music working on my masters degree. After graduating undergrad I wanted to continue learning piano from a master teacher, and have been with Mark for almost three years.

Mark is a unique teacher, in my experience, because his approach prioritizes creating artful music while supporting good technique. He gets his students to deeply listen to their own music and make adjustments to make their music more beautiful, aesthetic, effective, and understandable. While Mark certainly helps his students improve their technique, our lessons are never drilling and drilling technique in isolation before you are "allowed" to make beautiful music.

Mark is an incredible pianist and has a wealth of knowledge about music theory and music history. He helps me pick repertoire that I love to play. Additionally, Mark has a lot of experience performing both classical and jazz piano, and is always open to working with me in both of these realms.

Mark has helped me grow so much as a pianist in the time that I have been taking lessons with him. I would highly recommend him as a teacher.

Mark is an incredible teacher and I always enjoy my lessons with him. He definitely is adept at teaching adult students, and his group recitals are far more laid back and less stuffy than traditional piano recitals. Further, Mark is both an accomplished jazz pianist and classical pianist, so he is more than willing to teach you from either angle, and commonly incorporates the best of both worlds. You shouldn't have even the slightest trepidation about starting lessons with Mark; he's wonderful. My only regret is that I didn't discover him sooner.

Mark is a fantastic piano teacher. In the past 4 or so months I've been taking piano lessons from him, I've progressed much further than I thought I would.

My favorite part of his lessons is his insistence on the musical aspect of playing piano. While the technical aspects are important, and he does a fantastic job on that part, at the end of the day, you want the music to sound good! Mark is fantastic at the artistic aspect of playing the piano, which I think is a fundamental part of playing the piano many may miss.

I would recommend Mark to anyone wanting to learn the piano, he is a fantastic teacher and you will be sure to thrive under his tutelage.

I have taken lessons with Mark for almost two and a half years. I would definitely recommend Mark as a teacher for all ages and skill levels. There is always a diverse group of ages represented at our performances.

My favorite aspect of learning from Mark is the musicality he brings to the pieces. He is always great with bringing out the musicality in his students as well. Mark is wonderful at not playing/teaching piano like a robot. The music has more feeling when you are learning from Mark.

I personally am only interested in classical piano, but Mark does have a more varied background. Classical is probably his passion, but he did play a lot of jazz piano in his past. If you have interests outside these genres, I'm sure Mark would be happy to help. Mark brings so much musicality to his music, he would be excited to help you with any type of piece you are interested in. Mark will give me recommendations on what to play if I ask him, but for the most part he'll help me with anything I want to learn.

    I highly recommend Mark.
