A true neighborhood grocery store, but with all the things you really need. As it is in Pilsen, it has an extensive Mexican slant, but that's the beauty of it - needed dried Mexican oregano today, which is oddly hard to find, and it was $1.50 for a container the size groceries use for a pound of deli salads. More than ample street parking on Blue Island and two smallish parking lots. Am definitely going back when I have more time to browse the aisles for Mexican items I haven't seen anywhere else. They have a limited selection of cooked foods to get a plate lunch (the beans looked delicious), what appeared to be a full service butcher and deli and a standard seafood selection.
As always, Delicious. I could tell the items on the menu were hot and freshly made. The staff bend backward to accommodate your every whim. Great place for typical mexicanI food.
I enjoy the variety of food here, especially organic. I love the variety of different teas offered, vegetarian, vegan, and more. Everyone has been polite any time I've visited.
I've been going to Casa Del Pueblo since I was a little girl. I would give them more than five stars if I could. They have an incredibly vegan-friendly grocery store that really takes a lot of care towards reducing the amount of plastic that they use. For example if you forget to bring your bag you can take one of the boxes that they reuse for grocery packing. Their variety is incredible and the music is always jamming
This market has a great selection of produce, canned goods, dairy/non-dairy options and even cookware and cleaning supplies. The staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable about the store layout and have helped me locate a number of things very quickly. If you’re from Latin America/the Caribbean and looking for the ingredients to make something that will remind you of home, this is almost certainly the place.

Great grocery store and a landmark of the community. Always responsive to the needs of the neighborhood, La Casa was the first to import products from Mexico.
