Deerfields Bakery - Buffalo Grove

When we got engaged, my husband and I knew we wanted to have a cake tasting at Deerfield's. My husband had raved about them for years since they provided the birthday cakes at his office and I was excited to finally get a taste for myself.

Given COVID protocols and just general availability, we opted to do the at-home tasting kit. We placed the order online and picked it up within a couple of weeks. Don't think that because we did it at home it was any less thorough--we had at least 20 mini-tastings of frostings and fillings and 10 single servings of each cake flavor. We were so glad we invited my MIL to help us taste at home! To help us make sense of everything, the kit came with a guide where we could take notes and rank our favorites.

When it came to finally placing the order, our contact Debbi answered all our questions. She recommended the size of the cake given the guest list, what fillings may or may not go well with the type of cake flavor and made it clear what was and was not included in the final quote.

The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered first thing! We opted to have a naked cake with minimal frosting given our aesthetic (and that we in general aren't a fan of frosting) and the team executed this vision as desired. Not to mention it was DELICIOUS! The bottom two tiers of our cake was marble with cherry filling. Our top tier was carrot with cream cheese frosting. We are not carrot cake people but this one was so good, we had to have it just for us.

Bought a birthday cake. It was delicious. The bakery has a good ambience and friendly service. Vanilla creme French macaroons are tasty as well.

We are frequent customers! Deerfield’s never disappoints us! Most recently, we used Deerfield’s for our baby shower and we were blown away. They brought our vision to life for our “French Inspired” theme. The cake not only looked amazing but tasted great as well. Unfortunately, there were no leftovers.

I reached out to Deerfields bakery for my wedding cake this past June and I am SO GLAD I did! Deerfields bakery was great with communication & quick to respond to all my emails. I went in for a tasting (which was amazing!) and we loved the buttercream with raspberry mousse and raspberry filling. We received SO many compliments on how delicious and beautiful the cake was, our guests raved on and on, I was hearing about the cake for weeks following the wedding. Many said it was the best cake they have ever had at a wedding! They did a fabulous job and their products speak for themselves- delicious!

New to the area, discovered this place seems to be a go to for all baked goods!
Cupcakes are perfect and indulging without being too sweet presentation is amazing. KIKI makes the best coffee and has excellent kind service and They use intelligentsia beans which is my personal favorite.
