“This is our family’s new favorite place for fresh, authentic, and the best value sushi and Japanese food in the NW suburbs. My wife is Japanese so she is super picky about Japanese food however even she likes it. For Valentine’s Day we got a massive sushi mixed platter for four and an order of really tasty Japanese style fried chicken. We don’t like cream cheese style sushi so they substituted all those with avocado and cucumber at no extra charge. The total was only $64 and it was so much we eat it for two meals. What a great deal for sushi! This place is very well known and liked in the large Japanese local Japanese community. It is easy to miss tucked away in the corner of the mall that has Goodwill by Lowell’s. There is no large sign on the building, only in the window (see pictures) We will be back to try the Poke soon!”

“Russ is one of a kind. I appreciate his conversations. He has a great depth of knowledge of the community in Okawville. He gets to know you and treats you individually making the experience of getting a haircut fun. Beyond his haircutting ability, this is what makes him a great barber. As a man who is balding, he gives me a great hair cut that makes me look cool. It is hard to find a barber who knows how to deal with your head and this really comes out when you are balding. He gives me a great cut on my beard. I am glad he is my barber. I recommend him to anyone in Okawville or who wants to experience an old school rural barber.”

I don’t typically shop franchise or big box stores, but I always turn to Ace Hardware, especially in my area, because one family owns a handful of them, and they’re all in my area. I know I’m supporting a local family with my dollars and I get a common experience amongst all the stores…excellent! The employees are courteous and extremely helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience with anything. Grateful to still have a local store to shop in.”
