He correctly diagnosed the problem at no charge - it was dead. Still Genius is my go to service for repair of electronics.

Went in with a screen that wouldn’t power up… Troy took a good chunk of time with it and in the end, couldn’t help me (MacBooks are a completely self contained drop in board) without replacing the board, and didn’t charge me. Could have easily charged a diag fee, was well justified to do so, but didn’t. This resonates huge with me, and so I am here now telling you to give this place a shot!
