“I've been there. It's a scrap yard! Why do people think they offer white glove service? Get your part and get out! I needed a part, they had the part...it's simple!”

“Been going for years to Paul's. Prices are reasonable. No bs entrance tax, crazy core charges on everything (major stuff still has core charges) or environmental fees / tax. People are friendly. They do take scrap metal and precious metals. Just not a place to bring your date. They do close at 4:30pm sharply. Google may say 5pm. They do include warranties. They don't loan tools well maybe a tire iron if you ask. Yard outside is kinda of unorganized, cars directly on the ground with no rims or tires and can be in water. Most all off the cars are older ( at least 7-10 years old). They do get a few semi newer insurance salvage / wrecked cars, but not many. Cars are not marked (like most you pull it's) as to what is good or bad much less miles. They can tell you what car is out their but like most you pull it's they have no idea what is left on them, nor exactly which isle. No lifts to use to get engines out. You have to have them move the car for you and find tires to hold it up in the air then have the loader help lift the engine out if you can find seat belts ect. Else ask the scrap pile guy if he has any chains lying around. They can pull parts but you need to go out and find the car and parts you want them to pull. They sell used tires but you have to short threw the few that are pulled off the rims in the cargo container or the stack of hundreds of tires and rims on the pile. Sometimes you can get them to put tires on loose rims you have off your car. Don't balance. They have reconditioned battery's. Place is just bare muddy ground. When it has rained out anytime in the past week place is very muddy. Some of the mud in area just sucks you into it. So bring boots. No public bathrooms or sinks to use after your long day of pulling dirty parts. Pop / water vending machine. They seldom ever have carts to haul your parts back in the big yard. Just whatever someone stole from the scrap pile if your lucky and lucky if it is anywhere functional. So keep any eye from one if you see one getting scrapped and need to haul parts back, but if you ask and the guy is not busy they will haul them back in the pickup or loader. Paul's down the street (about 10 minutes) at 6530 Broadway, Merrillville, IN off 61 Ave and I-65 has gravel, cars are on wheel stands, wheel barrows and more newer cars if your scared to get dirty or trying to find a car that's just a few years old. Prices are just slightly higher sometimes (more so on bigger parts) their but you get what you pay for. Beware of Google "local guides". They get points to write vague reviews. I would never trust any of them been to the hundreds of places they write almost nothing about or share pictures.”
