“I met Dr. Kasaraneni, my surgeon, in the ER after enduring 4.5 days of excruciating constant pain from the onset of compartment syndrome. His calm and confident demeanor was a breath of fresh air. After our brief encounter I was rushed to have fasciotomy surgery. When I awoke the pain was finally gone! I later learned the severity and rarity of my condition. Without proper diagnosis and urgent action I would have lost my leg or my life. Due to my surgeon’s breadth of experience he was able to perform my rare surgery and save both my life and limb. I thought I might see him a couple times after surgery and then follow up with my primary doctor, but no, my surgeon cares about my recovery, he has seen me multiple times since and may continue to until I fully recover. During our visits he doesn’t just assess my condition and say have a nice day. He takes the time to really listen to and answer all my questions with thoughtful wisdom.
