“Place has some groomed hiking trails either of gravel, or dirt, and at times there was deep sand. I don't know what the trails are rated but I would give it a moderate to difficult rating for the route we followed. I wouldn't bring a wheel chair to use as it starts with a large, steep, graveled trail going down for what seems forever. And coming back up is exhausting to walk. I also wouldn't recommend taking young children or toddlers. There are several paths off the main trail. I also saw a Roman style theatre seating as we descended the first hill. There were several branches of Gunpowder Creek which wound it's way through the bottoms of the area. Some areas of dry ground were large islands. There were many large, deep areas of water (couldn't see bottom and current was swift), and many very quick moving shallow areas (less than 2 ft deep). Beautiful and scenic, but not a place I'd take someone who didn't swim. On an island across a very large, deep pool of water I could see part of ruins of an old rock wall. I saw four fishermen while there and was told that the Creek was regularly stocked with trout. There is a nice parking area at the top of the park at the entrance. This parking area is next to a playground and the only public bathrooms here, so use them before your venture.”

“Awesome park with a great dog park. Gets a bit muddy when it rains but there is a huge fenced in hill that's great for wearing out the pups”

“I grew up at the bottom of Sylvan drive in the eighties. This park is way nicer than it was back then. My kids loved climbing on the playground equipment. They especially enjoyed the see saw and the fire truck! They are 2 and 4 year olds so it was perfect for them and older kids will enjoy the park too. There is other bigger equipment that you can see in the background I including a twisty slide, monkey bars, rings and parallel bars. The mulch seemed new and the park is well maintained and clean. There are 2 swings for infants and 2 for bigger kids. There are bathrooms and a nice shelter with tables. There are baseball fields and plenty of space for all kinds of games.”

“The most interesting park in Kenton county! It was previously a golf course and many of those features are still intact. The paved trails are great. If you walk long enough the trails meet up with another Kenton county park down the road”

“Being a fan of living history, I was thrilled to live near the fort founded by Daniel Boone. It was one of our first explorations when we moved to KY. The buildings are fun to explore, and the people portraying life are interesting to talk to. The video in the first building, though obviously old, is fun to watch and learn about Daniel Boone. At the original fort, which is just a stone foundation, my kids would spend hours playing. The playground, though fun, was not the main attraction. Whether you want to picnic and play, or get immersed in history, Fort Boonesborough is a great place to go.”

“Very nice little park. Lots of room for littles to run as well as a very nice playground for them to play on. The single pavillion had plenty of seating and provided a nice shaded break to rest. The parking is extremely limited, so this is not a park for very large groups.”

“This is pretty cool looking! I've never seen a water tower that looks like this, though I did see a replica of this one at the Frazier History Museum. The paint job looks considerably worse for wear and there are figures around the -- parapet?? -- that weren't there when I visited. Maybe the whole thing is getting rehabbed. It was set up for a wedding when I stopped by so I'm guessing they hold lots of events here.”

“My Hubby plays the Lottery. It's all good for him to Play, a little frustrating when he plays a few dollars and the person in front of him plays over $100. You think they would play their numbers early in the Day, not wait till it's time for the machine to cut off.”
