“This is a fantastic barbecue joint. You are not gonna find anything better on the North Shore. I went to get ribs and they were out, which, if you know anything about barbecue is a good thing. That means that they are smoking up the ribs and then selling out that day, which means you’re not getting leftovers or old stuff from the previous day. Any BBQ enthusiast will tell you that if you go to a barbecue place late in the day and they’ve sold out of a main dish, it’s probably a really good barbecue joint. This is the case at the Pyre. Since they were out of ribs, I got the pulled pork and I must say it was absolutely great. (I have had their ribs in the past and they are also delicious). Their sides are exceptional. The place is clean. It’s a fun place to hang out at, with a nice bar and a super friendly staff. Great food and a great atmosphere, you can’t really ask for much more than that, but the Pyre gives more by flying both the American flag and a Marine Corps flag out front. So great food, great atmosphere, and they are patriotic, I wish I could give them six stars.”

“We found this place on a drive and really loved it. First off they are dog friendly. It seemed like a local place that was on the water and very laid back. We didn't eat but it looked like the portions were huge and everyone was enjoying the food. They had music we liked, so we sat on the docks with a drink listening to the music. The people were so friendly to us and our dog Max, as it looked like most people knew each other. We even met someone from around were we lived. We also watched the boats go by. We would definately go back again, we loved it.”

Only to check my bank statement And remember I never picked up my food. I contacted customer service they don’t have a system to refund, but she told me I can go pick the food up. I do not live in the area,but when I finally made it back I went in and prepared to have a negative experience. I had just the opposite great customer service, great food. “On our way back home from a daycation, we decided to stop for breakfast in Slidell. We were very intrigued and inquisitive about La Pines Cafe. We had seen and heard of it being on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. So glad we did. As we walked up to the cafe, we saw a crowd of people waiting outside the cafe. For a Sunday right in the peak of the breakfast rush, we anticipated waiting for a little bit. (That was fine) But... We didn't! We were quickly seated and was asked our drink orders and handed some menus. As we looked through all the amazing choices, we decided to get... Me: The Chicken Fried Platter Breakfast with 2 over easy eggs, home fries, and a biscuit. She: The Garden Omelet(Pepper Jack Cheese, Onions, Artichokes, Tomatoes, Spinach, Mushrooms) with some toast. “This restaurant is amazing for an occasional night, have a good vibe and you see everyone happy working there, looks very clean and organized, we had to call 30 minutes before to make a reservation of a table, and we arrived right on time, didn't wait a minute, so if you are going, make sure to call before so you dont have to wait there. The food was amazing! Was one of the best meat I've ever tried, the sides was very tasty too. Price was good, the only bad comment that I would say was about the waiting time to be served, it took like 40min, but it was worth to wait.”
