“This is my first review of a fire company. This isn't a review of how well they respond to fire and ambulance calls. It's been too many years since I lived in Cecil County for me to have an opinion based on current data. I can say that back ten years ago, when I was still working in the ER, the North East Fire Company did great work. This review is on the decor in the social hall of the North East Fire Company. The last time I was in the social hall was probably twenty-five or thirty years ago, and the place was pretty basic. The Rising Sun Fire Hall was much nicer so they got most of the receptions. I went to a funeral in North East today. After the interment, there was a social gathering in the North East Fire Hall. The decor was very nice. I had planned to wax eloquent about the food, but I asked the lady behind the bar if the affair was catered by the fire hall auxiliary, and it wasn't. The family brought the food.”
