“I love this Starbucks for its friendly staff. It can get crowded here, like most of the café's locations. The store is kept clean and my drinks are always made with care. The staff recognizes me from my frequent visits, so they always make sure my drink is just right. I'm a creature of habit, so I always order one of my three drinks depending on my mood. I like that they offer to steam the cream for me to put in my coffee. They're really great here. A lot of stores don't put so much thought into the drinks, and I can't blame them when it's crazy busy. The personal care is much appreciated here.”

“It is such a treat to show up at Norman's CSA pick up and be consistently greeted by friendly and very helpful people. They will give you tips on how to prepare a certain vegetable, or give your kid an amazing juicy strawberry to taste, and always with a smile. And then there is the fresh fruit and vegetables. I get to choose what I want to take and how much - each share is divided into how many choices you get from each table - so if I am in the mood for cucumbers, I can get a bundle of cucumbers and leave the kale for next week. It is a wonderful opportunity to get very fresh produce, reasonably priced and enjoy jovial people at the same time.”

“I have taken classes for the past 5 years at Glen Echo Pottery. It is a very welcoming and friendly environment. Everyone is super helpful at every level. Teaching of beginners is pretty hands on and, as you progress, you are able to work by yourself, asking for help and advice only when you need it. There is a very generous amount of free, open-studio time. The overall cost of the pottery is low, I think because there is a lot of volunteerism amongst the students. I find the pottery has become an important part of my life. I can't imagine anything better.”
