“Nice camp site easy access from Taylor's Landing. Great view of the river However if you are coming in from the water the bank is very steep and and about a 15 foot climb, bring a length of rope i.e. throw bag to help pull your water craft up.”

“This a great biker campsite close to the river. I can't comment on the bugginess since I have not been here during the summer, but it seems really nice. There is a portapotty, fire ring, picnic table, and a fair amount of flat ground for a tent. The water pump is missing it's lever and does not work.”

“Section of the towpath that is just far enough away from the crowds at Harper's Ferry to avoid the weekend crowds.”

“Only an hour or so outside DC makes it super great, the holes are challenging and very diverse, the cart paths are wonderfully maintained and the entire course is gorgeous. Food options are a little sparse but about what you could expect of a small little spot like this.... get a cart, you will be exhausted walking”

“Was glad to find a fun 18 hole disc golf course in Hagerstown although Maps did not seem to know the entrance is on Mt Aetna Road”

“Nice shelter right next to a parking lot. This is great for when you want to do a little camping but want easy access so you can lug food or firewood you normally wouldn't when you're doing some proper backpacking. The shelter has always been clean when I've been there. There's some overflow camp tent pads nearby but they are kind of annoying to pitch in and are on a slope.”
Address: 11361-11421 Wolfsville Rd, Smithsburg, MD 21783, USA
“Small parking lot off of Wolfsville Road with short blue access path to AT close to the road. Heading AT north the Ensign Cowall shelter/tent pads are less than .5 miles. AT South just across the road at the end of the access path. Steep but beautiful incline south. Parking can get crowded.”

“I had fun going to the battle of antietam reanactment. i also been to the battlefield itself what huge battlefield it is lots of monuments.Very well maintained! Love the battlefield historians are very helpful about what happen and why it happen. They are so knowledgeable, and are enthusiastic about imparting their knowledge on others. Grounds very well maintained though the clarity of understanding how the battle unfolded by reading the plaques and markers. all the staff at visitors center was super nice. An incredible moving place where you really get the full impact of the battle, a must stop for anyone who visits the battlefield”

“One of our favorite spots to camp near DC. All spots along the river, great biking for kids along the toe path, even an open field (dried, cleared portion of the canal) where the kids can play soccer, etc. Note you cannot park at sites and at a minimum have to cross the canal and in some cases walk a ways along the toe path to get gear to your site. A wagon is very helpful. Also, the bathrooms are all down near sites 5 or 6 so it can be helpful to have bikes if you're at the higher numbered sites. It's worth the effort though.”
