“Another great campsite on the c&o. The water pump works well and is quiet. Lol I hate waking everybody up pumping water for coffee. Most the pumps are very squeaky.”

“We were married here 15 years ago and have stayed overnight many times before and since. The inn is beautiful as are the rooms we've stayed in. The staff is very courteous and caring. My one wish would be more choices for breakfast. The breakfasts are delicious but just adding oatmeal as an option would provide a decent choice for those of us who don't eat eggs. Then again I didn't alert them before we came so if I had, it's possible they would have been able to make some arrangement. Otherwise, who could ask for a more romantic setting?”

“Fantastic setting! Amazing history in the area and the property - don’t miss the historical marker about the “Thumb Grant” at the entrance of the property. The cottages are simply spectacular. Next time I will enjoy the firepit! Beautiful views from every window of the golf course and also the Chesapeake Bay. Go now before everyone figures out how amazing this place is!”

“I love this track. Played here over the holiday weekend, and two of my buddies played it for the first time. They both couldn't wait to get back. It was even worth the brutal traffic back across the Bay Bridge as well. Two courses, I have only played the River course but it is fantastic. The Lakes course looks nice from the highway and driveway, but again I haven't played it. On the River, several holes overlook the Chester River/Chesapeake Bay. Most holes have some space off the tees, but that may put less than driver in your hands. #4 is a great example as there is a lot of water visible off the tee, but not near the green. You can try and hit driver straight towards the green, but the payoff isn't really justified. A long iron to the fat part of the fairway is the play, but the more aggressive line you take off the tee, the more water comes into play. Just a lot of risk/reward lines to take off each tee. The River is very playable for all levels and I may walk it next time. There is some distance between a couple of holes but the terrain is flat. There is a great collection of par 3s on this track, and one dogleg left par 5 (#5) that ends with a view of the river/bay is stunning. Just a fantastic layout through and through. Pro shop is well stocked and I have found a great deal every time I have looked around. Food is just okay and a little pricey. The people have always been extremely nice from the moment you arrive. The range is smallish and you are usually hitting off mats. There is a small putting green next to the range and a larger one near the first tee box for the River Course. Queenstown Harbor might be a destination for me but one I will try and make every year. There is a set of outlets across the entrance by the way.”

“Great place to stay. One bedroom with double bed and fold out double in the lounge. Great wifi connection and lovely kitchen and bathroom. Air conditioning in the floor which works well. Friendly hosts giving lots of local information - nothing is any trouble. Washing machine and dryer came in very handy with a toilet training toddler in tow. Would recommend to couples and small families (2+2). Perfect location to explore Rock Hall and surrounding area.”

“We purchased our travel trailer with adventure in mind and our trip to the Hagerstown KOA provided us with a lot of excitement. On our second night the creek flooded due to a TON of rain and the only access road to/from the campground was cut off. We didn't make it out for a few days and didn't get to see all of the local sites we wanted but we had a great time relaxing, talking and trying to keep a fire going. We wanted to try our hand at fishing but the torrent of flood water in the creek was a sign of futility on that regard. Oh well, maybe next time. The campground itself is a bit rustic compared to some others we have visited, but it has a unique charm all it's own. Cell coverage there was excellent and we were able to stream movies, work, and surf the web between the raindrops. The staff was wonderful and friendly. They provided us with updates on the flooding and great conversation to pass the time. The trip was not what we were expecting, but probably what we needed. I have a feeling we'll be back...”

“Really enjoyed our dinner here. We were starting at a local marina across town. When we made reservations, they sent a car to get us. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Professional service. All of our group had excellent meals. My tuna was prepared perfectly. The wife had a soft shell crab that was the best she ever had.”

“The 5 Gables Inn is nice. Great location. However walls in the main building a paper thin. Like staying in a tent between the rooms. Some nuts in the next room got into an altercation and made for a tough night. Hotel management came and quieted things down. We left in the morning after a nice breakfast. Didn’t ask for any compensation but may look for another place to stay next time in St Michaels.”

“My experience there was EXTRAORDINARY! If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Service is AMAZING! I felt like I was treated like Royalty. The valet staff is very courteous & friendly. The front desk is very welcoming and helpful. Vickie in the restaurant is a true professional. Chance who did the wine judgement was knowledgeable and entertaining. I just can't say enough good things about this place. Brunch was one of the best I've been to. I can't wait to go back! LOVE THIS PLACE!”
