“A friend stayed there while visiting. Exceptionally clean. Each room has a coffee pot, mini fridge, and iron and ironing board. TVs are flat screen and good size. The towels are extra long and super soft. You could not hear anyone in the next room so it was easy to get a good nights sleep.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this bed and breakfast last weekend! Sarah and Ed were wonderful hosts and the accommodations were great! “Was pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was compared to several other hotels I have stayed at nearby. I stayed on the 2nd floor facing the lot in a single bed room. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The wifi speed was better than most and stable. The breakfast was what I would expect. But everything tasted good and fresh. My only complaint is that the shower head was stationery. Will stay here from now on.”

“The morning I checked out, my car would not start. Not only did they recommend a garage, they offered me a jump!! Unfortunately, it was not as simple as a bad battery. They allowed me to use the computer to get some work done, and said I could stay until my car was fixed. The staff, and the manager went above and beyond in all phases of my stay. Hotel was extremely clean ( my most important consideration), well-maintained, has a pool and a hot tub. All the staff, from management to housekeeping want guests to be happy with their stay, and it shows!! They are committed to providing excellent service, and treat guests with respect. I plan to return many times when I am in the area. Thank you all for one of the best stays away from home I have ever had.”

“For the price this is a sure place to just relax with no interruption. The room was the perfect size. The microwave was standard which is interesting given that a lot of hotels give one on request. Then had a fridge that was decently sized and was adjustable. The simple thing that I had bad experiences with in some other places. The location wasn't bad but the parking lot did not leave me thrilled. Then again the was a small place and that's all I took a star of for. The rest was fine given the price and location.”

“The facilities and rooms are nice. It's also right on the water. They had some dehumidifiers running in the hallways but my room wasn't damp or humid. The shower gets extremely hot which is nice. They also provide two free drinks and appetizers every night. I didn't eat the breakfast but some colleagues said it was very good.”

“Bear Spring Cabin is a nice off-trail alternative to trail shelters and campsites on the AT that sometimes get considerable foot traffic along this stretch of trail. The primitive cabin has a collection of cast iron cookware, bunks (no bedding), a table and benches, and a wood stove. The window shutters are a little tricky to open. It has a private privy (mouldering latrine; uses the same key as the cabin) and a spacious covered eating area that includes a grill and picnic table, along with counter space and basin for dishes. Note that as a primitive cabin, you'll need to bring your own light. The spring, while reliable, is about a quarter mile from the cabin; fill up in one trip. Also, the cabin is about three quarters of a mile downslope from the AT. It can be tricky to get to in wet weather, and it's quite the "good morning" to get back on the trail the next day. Refer to PATC Map 5/6.”
