“Wow, what amazing food!! I often think that some of the best foods are in small non descript establishments (hole-in-the walls). This place proves that truth. The batter on the fried foods was so light and not greasy at all. The owners, workers and other patrons are all very friendly. The place is small but wow the food is so grand!!! Freshly made with pride and generations of experience. I've tried quite a few things here and have never, ever been disappointed. It's all fresh and delivered with a smile. The servers are very helpful with their opinions and knowledge and answer questions with a lot of enthusiasm. Roxette has waited on me each time I've gone here and other workers help when needed, a real friendly family feel. A nice laid back atmosphere, great people and extremely supurb food! Some of the BEST fried seafood I've ever had and I've tried very many. I actually go to MA from RI just for their great food and service.”

“I just wanted to express my complete gratitude towards The Old Grist Mill Tavern. It was my family's first time there on Saturday (12/21) and we had a wonderful experience. My new (and temporary) diet consists of a low sodium one. Dining out is definitely one of my favorite things to do but it has been a struggle to find places that can accommodate my dietary needs. On a whim, since we were in the area, we called the GMT and they said they could accommodate and the hostess double checked with the kitchen. Not only we were greeted with a warm welcome but our server, Jason, was just as warm and even more knowledgeable. He was extremely helpful in letting me know what items contained a high salt/sodium content and made his suggestions based on that. I felt like I was being treated like royalty however, I know Jason was trying to make sure I had a wonderful and more importantly safe experience. You honestly don't see servers like Jason anymore. You can tell he really cares about his work, team and guests. Being in the hospitality industry, I know reviews and such are so vital to a restaurants success and morale so I had to say something. Thank you Jason for taking care of me and my family! I will be back - hopefully with less restrictions - and continue to enjoy the variety and flavors of the Grist Mill Tavern!”

“Steak tips had a great marinate but were well done and I asked for med rare.potatos were cooked well. Pizza lacked flavor but good texture. Waitress brought my salad same time as steak and actually forgot a Greek salad we ordered. Hopefully they can work out the bugs and produce good quality food. Overall not bad, better than some in the area but should be getting better with some more attention to details.”

“First time to the restaurant. My husband's aunt and uncle brought us because they love the place. We were not disappointed! The short ribs came highly recommended so I had to try them. I have not had short ribs too many times in my life but these were the best by far. So tender, so delicious. I love that carrots and onions came on the plate along with them because they cook them together just for flavor, not as a side. The service was excellent and efficient. The price was amazing for the amount of food that they give you. I will be happy to go again.”

“Great good, but spicy! 7yr old son complained about his steak. Jalapeno's on everything. We did have a good laugh at trying them. Atmosphere was great, got a nice big table at the end of the restaurant. Was a table of 6. 4 adults, 16 yr old celebrating her birthday, and 7 yr old. Ordered a blue crab paella split for 2, 2 bife a Portuguese, 1 seafood platter, 1 shrimp parmigiana. 1 bottle of borba, 1 glass of red sangria, coke, root beer, apple juice. Birthday girl got a slice of chocolate cake st the end as we sang! All together WITHOUT tip $224. Waitress was nice and friendly, kept checking on us, making sure we were without anything. All in all great experience, we will be back! Place was nice and clean, bathrooms as well which is a big plus! Wasn't busy when we arrived either 12:45 on a Sunday.
