“My son was in the toddler room at Wollaston in 2017 and it was absolutely wonderful. I felt very safe having him spend his day here. The staff are so friendly and professional, and it's clear that they love children. The facility is immaculately clean and safe - both for injury prevention and for security against intruders. The communication is excellent: the teachers give you a detailed report every day to tell you all of the important things that your baby did or didn't do, and they always make a point of grabbing you at pickup time to elaborate, or to tell a fun story about your kid. The Director responds to emails very quickly (I'm more of an emailer than a caller), and always gives you the feeling that nothing is a problem (even though she has to deal with hundreds of anxious parents like myself every day). They send monthly newsletters, and notices for absolutely everything that goes on, such as teachers going on vacation, building upgrades, special events, a bug going around, etc. The education/ socialization element in the toddler room was also fantastic. In a few short months, my son was counting to 20, knew all his colors, uses a fork and spoon well, knows to share and take turns, say sorry and comfort others, and best of all - clean up his toys! He also got lots of running around time and outdoor time to keep him healthy and full of energy. Food-wise, another five stars. They provide a healthy morning and afternoon snack (fruit, vegetables, crackers, etc) which everyone eats together. I didn't realize how valuable this was until we left - not only is it a lot less to pack and plan for the night before, but it was so great for equalizing cultural, philosophical, and socioeconomic differences that are on display when kids open their lunch boxes that their parents packed. As they share in this meal, their differences melt away for a time. It is also a nut- free facility, which shows the level of respect and inclusiveness that they show every child (a small inconvenience for those without allergies, but a world of difference to those with them). I could go on and on about what a great place I think this is, but the bottom line is that the new Director runs an excellent program - above the standard in every way. She actually teaches compliance and facility management to other childcare operators in her spare time. My son absolutely adores his teachers, as do I, and I couldn't recommend this place more. *Note, the only reason we are not still there is because we relocated. I cried more than my son when we left.”

“While on a cruise in China, I experienced very bad breathing problems. Being an asthmatic, my medications couldn't keep up with the conditions. It necessitated my going to the ship’s Doctor, who emphasized the most important thing that I could do was to practice Tai Chi every day for 1 – 1 ½ hours. While living in Florida I” learned” Tai chi through videos. Realizing that there was no one to tell me if I was doing it correctly, I felt that I needed to find a class with a teacher who could give me guidance. When I came back to Boston for the summer, I did quite a bit of research and based on the reviews decided to go to Randy’s class. Randy is a TEACHER. He shares his extensive knowledge not only about the forms but also the why. It is important to him that his students maximize the physical and mental benefits of Tai Chi. This is exemplified by his individual attention that all of his students receive. He consistently moves around the class encouraging and correcting. Through his efforts I feel that I have begun the steps (baby steps) to really learn Tai Chi and have grown not only in the physical but also the importance of the mental aspects. Randy is truly vested in the success of his students. If you truly want to learn, Randy is a TEACHER ”

“I took the Beginner Ukulele course from Derrick at the BCAE. He was upfront on the first night telling us he was really a guitar teacher but the center had asked him to do this class. I would've never guessed he wasn't a ukulele teacher. In 4 short sessions, I was able to play actual songs and strum chords. He has a methodical way of teaching that makes it easy for a group lesson to feel like a private lesson. I liked his course so much I will be taking the guitar course that is coming up.”
