“Beautiful little bake shop. Tried a Raspberry Frangipane Tart, black currant doughnut, and a spinach and feta quiche. Also, a cortado made with oat milk. Everything was incredible. They've got a very skilled baker. Everything was perfect. The black currant iced tea was also perfectly fragrant and lightly sweetened to perfection. I wish this was my local neighborhood bake shop!”

“This is an ideal, quiet recluse to which I enjoy retiring when escaping the pace of the big city. Here I write, read, sleep, and eat in an environment that fosters creativity. I leave feeling rested and accomplished. Its proximity to Chicago means that I can get away on relatively short notice for a long weekend. The owners take pride in their inn. The staff are attentive, friendly, and helpful. This is a charming inn, and especially so at Christmastime!”

“Overall it was a great place to stay. We did have exceptionally small bathrooms and the beds were tiny. All cabins but ours had fans which made it stuffy if you shut the doors to sleep. The short walk to the beach was incredible. This was a great place for a family vacation. We had a great time!”

“Tasty cafe in lake country owned by a remarkable, unassuming chef who achieved remarkable success in Chicago both for her culinary abilities and her philanthropy/give back efforts. The food was v good but I think I most enjoyed learning about the chef from the articles in the hallway. While I was reading them she came out of the kitchen to use the restroom and if I wasn't looking at her photo in a magazine article I would have had no idea who she was. An everyday hero”

“Our family literally counts down the days until our annual week vacation at The Place To Be! The location absolutely cannot be beat. The beach access is super convenient and an easy walk to catch the dynamite sunsets. You are steps away from delicious bakery and restaurant options and directly off the main road to take you to a multitude of additional locations - Farmer's Market, breweries, blueberry picking, fun towns, etc. You feel as though you're in the heart of Harbor Country! The house itself is exactly what you need for a relaxing vacation...perfectly comfortable and great space. The backyard is wonderful for s'mores, sports and soaking up the sunshine. Writing this makes me want to go back...incredibly pleased with our experiences over the last three years!”
