Ann arbor Ypsilanti

Mary Beth Doyle Park

Address: 3500 Birch Hollow Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, USA

Park

“Good nature area amidst suburbia. Half a mile-ish fully paved, wide walking trail good for wheelchairs, strollers, bikes, roller skates/blades, etc surrounding the marshlands and reservoir. Newly paved basketball courts (2022 I believe) and a playground that's best for a little older kids (late elementary) but still fun for littler kids. Picnic tables throughout but no built-in grills. Cool disc golf course hidden amongst the trees and meadows. Lots of smaller trails connecting to surrounding neighborhoods which is my favorite part.”

Braun Nature Area

Address: Ann Arbor, MI 48104, USA

Park

“Excellent area to take in some natural surroundings!”

LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve

Address: 2452 N Prospect Rd #2198, Superior Charter Twp, MI 48198, USA

Park

“Wonderful place... make sure u have your OLD hiking boots or your worst pair of gym shoes. You WILL get muddy if there's been rain. There are well-marked trails, but they are rustic & unimproved. I wouldn't call this place "accessible" or stroller friendly. We had a great time in the morning beating the weather that came that afternoon.”

Gallup Park - Irene Fast Pavilion

Address: 3000 Fuller Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, USA

Park

“Nice pavilion, bordered by a river in a city park. There are restrooms nearby but no electricity. I've never experienced problems with bugs, but I have had issues with bees (or hornets) swarming around food. There's a nice lawn on one side of the pavilion and a walking path through the park that passes between the river and the other side. There are picnic tables inside the pavilion and charcoal grills off to the side.”

Sharon Hills Preserve

Address: Sharon Hollow Rd, Manchester, MI 48158, USA

Park

“This was the first time we hiked in this preserve but we will definitely return. It's about a half an hour from Ann Arbor with a pretty drive through farmland and by Pleasant Lake. The preserve is very hilly with several trails through the woods. The trails were mostly snow covered but not icy today. At several places there were lovely vistas with views of the valley and opposite hillsides.”

Lawton Park

Address: 2125 Mershon Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

“Very good location educated teachers nice park and playground for kidos”

Ruthven Nature Area

Dicken Woods Nature Area

Address: 1495 S Maple Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

Park

“This is a nice little park. It's kept up pretty well and it's a nice escape from the city. When everything is in full growth, you can't see the road or surrounding buildings. It also has some interesting (marked) native plants and the trails run out to Dicken School, Maple Road and a nearby neighborhood. I give four starts because it is quite small (you can circle the whole thing in under 10 mins), and you can still hear all the city/highway traffic. Overall, a nice place to walk your dog or enjoy some scenery without having to go too far out of your way.”

Springhill Nature Preserve

Address: 3296 Berry Rd, Superior Charter Twp, MI 48198, USA

Park

“I took my mountain bike here, great flowing meadows, decent trails and some dirt paths in the woods, quiet and extends pretty far west connecting to another park preserve. Not very well marked, but use gps and there are better maps at the Koch preserve entrance.”

Longshore Park

Address: 539 Longshore Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, USA

Park

“This is just a neighborhood park with a children's play area (jungle gym, slides, swings, etc). And plenty of grass to throw a ball or a frisbee. You can see the river across the street, and have a nice cookout.”

Rolling Hills

Address: 7660 Stony Creek Rd, Ypsilanti Charter Twp, MI 48197, USA

Park

“So awesome, so many options to choose from, good food that wasn't too pricey. I didn't realize they opened at 11 so we had to wait to get in. The bathrooms were nice and well kept. I appreciate them asking parents not to have opposite sex kids over a certain age since women and girls are changing in there. They have family changing rooms for that which is nice.”

Hanover Square Park

Address: 333 Packard St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, USA

Park

“A nice park in Detroit, great for outdoor activities and some light gatherings. Make sure to scope it out before you plan something, though!”

Koenn Nature Preserve

Address: 2200 Hayes Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118, USA

Park

“Nice trail. Kinda muddy in the spring. Plenty of parking. Runs along Letts Creek for a bit with a great view of Goose Lake. The sign says they do not allow dogs. There are a lot of hunting blinds scattered about the preserve so be prepared for that during hunting season.”

Fritz Park

Address: Pauline Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

Park

“One of the many great parks and hiking trails in Ann Arbor!”

Scio Woods Preserve

Address: Scio Church Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

Park

“Very lovely nature area. There are a couple different loops you can walk, all in a forested area. I would go back again for sure. There are a couple private paths that lead off the main loop to private property, but the trail is well marked and there is a map at the trail head.”

Cedar Bend Nature Area

Address: 1495 Cedar Bend Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48109, USA

“The hike down is a bit tricky and not for young or out of shape. Beautiful though and is against water. Can get busy....”

Washtenaw County Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Kirk Park

Address: 2001-2081 Clinton St, Manchester, MI 48158, USA

Park Lodging

“Wonderful park! Great baseball diamonds, cute little playground with plenty of swings. There's often kind neighborhood kids playing basketball as well! The tennis courts are in fairly rough shape, but overall this park is a hub of friendly neighbors and happy kids!”

Cavanaugh Lake County Park

Address: 33 Cavanaugh Lake Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118, USA

Park

“Unique park, we love to picnic here in the fall. Benches overlooking the water and play equipment is relatively new and safe. The only drawback is the bathroom and parking are across a low traffic road from the park and it is a small narrow waterfront park, but it's nice too.”

Gallup park playground

Address: 3175 Gallup Park Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, USA

Park

“Fun playground park for kids that was created with some artistic and creative flair. Fun to look at if you can't play on it. Good sized parking lot close by and not far to some shelters and BBQ stands. TIP: Read the skin irritation warnings by the water about touching the frothy foam that you might find floating on it, and be mindful of your kids.”

Hewen’s Creek Park

Address: 6515 Bemis Rd, Ypsilanti Charter Twp, MI 48197, USA

Park

“Not too many people around most of the time. I've seen a few folks fishing and a few on the bike trails. The trails are wonderful and there are lots of them. It's quite easy to get lost in the back 40. I've needed google maps to help me out a couple of times. There are no benches along the trails and some of the trails are quite long. Be prepared, take water, and pay attention to where you are and you'll have a great hike.”

North Bay Park

Address: 1001 Huron St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, USA

Park

“I took my parents visited at a foggy morning, not much people around. Trees surrounding the parking lot are colorful. The boardwalk is long and dry, not slippery. The lake looks quiet and calm. We saw Asian carps, swan, gooses, and other birds. There is a hill run down from the pathway to the parking lot, it's a bit challenge for the elder people. Anyway, we enjoyed it a lot.”
