“Interesting place to visit, some good hiking in the woods and wildlife if you look for it. “Eagan has done some good events here, but it can be hit or miss. Sometimes the descriptions make you think it's something different than what it is. Also there are events where you have to get tickets and the site doesn't actually link you to them. In general the farm house is nice to tour and area is nice with a playground nearby for kids.”

Plenty of parking.”

South Pines Park

Park

“Nice park, love the couple unique climbers they have and the slides are taller than most, which was fun. A little closer to the street than we like, but overall it was a nice park. The half court basketball hoop needs a little work, it's crooked, but you can tell it was a nice hoop, at one point.”

Hastings Sand Coulee Scientific and Natural Area (SNA)

Address: Glacier Way, Hastings, MN 55033, USA

Park

“This DNR Scientific and Natural Area (SNA) preserves a unique sand prairie. Few pristine prairie remnants are left in Minnesota and fewer still in the Twin Cities area. Typical prairie species are found here (such as little bluestem, lead plant, wild rose) but also species that thrive in very dry soils such as needle grasses, hairy puccoon, and spiderwort. The prairie is also blanketed in poison ivy so if you are sensitive, take precautions.”

Hill Dee Park

Address: 5525 Upper 182nd St W, Farmington, MN 55024, USA

Park

“Moderate size playground equipment, mostly targeted to younger kids - nothing too fancy or unique as far as the equipment itself goes, but again, it seems mostly targeted toward younger kids. Not a whole lot in way of shade, though but there is a little pavillion with two picnic tables underneath it. Full size basketball court and a softball diamond. Tons of open grassy space to run around and play in. There is no public restroom building, just a port o potty.”
