“I had the Respicardia Remedē device implanted in 2014 and over the course of several months my device was tweaked by Respicardia techs and I could finally get restful sleep. The techs configured the device differently for all of my sleep positions – back, stomach, left side and right side. The intensity of the device is different depending on whether I am laying on my back, stomach or left and right side. I am grateful for the Remedē device and feel that it saved my life. I was unaware of the correlation between Central Sleep Apnea and heart disease before my Remedē was implanted. When I started having strange symptoms that were not typical of heart disease I knew that something was going on so I saw my primary care doctor who sent me for an Echo Stress test. I failed the Echo Stress test as I had one artery blocked in two places with one area at 90 percent blockage and the other at 95 percent blockage. I now have two stents and am thankful that I knew to get tested before I had a heart attack which according to the cardiologist would have most likely been fatal. The artery involved was what they call the widow maker. I am grateful to Respicardia for creating the Remedē which gives me restorative sleep and for letting me know that I should be routinely checked for heart problems. I would highly recommend the Remedē to anyone with Central Sleep Apnea.”
