“Nice little old cemetery with graves spanning over a century. The graves are set back on the hill, with a large buffer of lawn between them and the road, adding to the serenity of the cemetery. I appreciate that some of the memorial markers are in the form of stone benches, making it a more inviting place to linger and stay for a while”

“Working with Evans-Nordby Funeral Homes was, by far, one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. From the very first phone call, to walking through the whole process and helping connect me to services to honor my father's final wishes, the staff was AMAZING. All my questions, all my requests, they were there. They just made the whole experience stress free and allowed the beauty of life, and death, to shine. Thank you for all you have done for me and my family.”

“Good old Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Cemetery, founded in 1873. Beautiful tombstones. Peaceful grounds. Well maintained. It's a large enough cemetery with lots of graves on a fairly flat bit of land. It's not a cemetary on a hill, and not park like, but it does feel good”

“There are so many personal memorials at this cemetery. People leave flowers, but also personal mementos. Many of the inscriptions describe a love between people, which truly is a reminder of what is important. We may spend our lives in many pursuits, but in the end, what matters is our relationships The cemetery is on a hill and has many beautiful shade trees.”

“Wonderful cemetery. Well maintained. Well laid out. The Russian area is exceptionally nice. Although I do appreciate the sculptural beauty of large tombstones, I am impressed by a congregation that has decided to all have flat grave markers. Tombstones are expensive, and they have made the decision to be more egalitarian and inclusive in their modest memorials.”

“I served a family who chose to do a hybrid/green type burial. The gentleman (cemetery staff member) who assisted us with the burial was great to work with; he was respectful and dignified towards the family and the situation. I would recommend them to any family looking for a cemetery for any type of burial.”

“Nice old cemetery established in 1863. Lots of nicely carved tombstones. On some old stones, I saw the womans name, and then "wife of" and the name of the man next to her. There was no reciprocal "husband of" on his marker. It would seem that misogyny extends even into death.”

“Quiet cemetery near the highway. Has a brand new seating area and beautiful old trees.”

“Nice old cemetery, founded in 1856. Too close to the highway to be serene, but still a nice place. There are about 3500 graves here, many with large beautifully carved tombstones. The old section is in the southeast corner, nearest to the old road.”

“This is a beautiful, historic, peaceful cemetery. Lots of old growth trees, and it's very serene. Also the staff are wonderful - I called this morning to report that the sod on my aunt's grave was failing and they called me back within a couple of hours to say they'd fix it right away.”

“Dawn Valley is a beautiful, peaceful place. I visit every day and care for fresh cut flowers on a boulder. Holiday wreaths are placed in November and they last till early Feb, they are very nice too. The grounds workers are pleasant to visit with as are those in the chapel. I feel very welcome when I visit. It will be my final resting place in that same boulder with my dearest Shirley sometime in the distant future.”

“My mom and dad purchased plots from Dawn Valley from a door to door salesman in 1971. It seems that was their preferred method of shopping back then as I have the dictionaries, encyclopedias and brushes to prove it. Lol. They purchased based on location as it was near Bush Lake, which was a center point of fun activities we were doing as a family during the time. I imagine they also chose DV, because it is beautiful, tranquil, and surrounded by nature. This review is based on my mom’s funeral last week. Planning a funeral is no fun. It’s overwhelming, because of the timing and the unknowns. I can say without hesitation that my parents chose well. The staff of Dawn Valley was amazing. They made the process easy, smooth, and stress free. We feared pressure sales. Never did this happen and it was made clear throughout the process they would work with us and it would be perfect. The funeral itself was beautifully done. They chose a wonderful minister, who despite never meeting my mom made us feel like they knew each other. All in all, for a hard thing to go through they made it seamless and stress free. The perfect day for a immensely loved and missed mom. Thank you, Dawn Valley!”
