Its such cozy and pretty restaurant with extremely flavorful food. We were a groip of 6 and tried the Borscht, Kachapuri, Moscow Fries, Palmeni, Vareniki, Potato Salad, Cabbage rolls, escargot, Chicken Kiev and everything was top notch!
I highly recommend the Fries. The quantity of the food was perfect too-not too much, not too little. I was pleasantly surprised at my first experience of trying the cuisine.
My family and I went to Moscow on the Hill after watching the Nutcracker at the O'Shaughnessy theater. The area around the restaurant is beautiful and the restaurant itself is very charming. The ambience was very lovely and the music was so fun.
First off, the Pushkin Torte was one of the most delicious tortes that I've ever eaten. Literally so good! Don't skip dessert. All the food we had was so freaking delicious. Maybe it was because it was snowing hard outside but this meal was one of the most satisfying meals I've ever had. Definitely get the Borscht and the Cabbage Rolls!
All in all, a perfect ending to a perfect day! Thank you!
Truth be told, I always thought it was a really upscale restaurant (not exactly sure what lead me to that conclusion) and a place for really special occasions. 💃Not the case! Super accessible, and standard pricing for any sit-down joint (I would even say that the drinks are a steal!)
Everything we had was very good, though I thought that the pirozhok was a little dry without the sauce, but the cabbage rolls totally made up for it. I would have told you I didn’t LIKE cabbage rolls, but these were fantastic! Warm and comforting and so delightful to eat. It’s a bit weird to eat this rich, warming, stick-to-your ribs comfort food while sitting on a beautiful patio on a hot summer evening 🌞, but we got over it with the help of the killer cocktails 🍸. Although I only took a picture of two, we each had several and they were all top-notch. We’ll be back!
Everything we had was delicious!
Cocktails were great and we ordered quite a few apps (we got 1 per person since we split entrees but about 1 per 2 people would be about right as they are on the smaller side). We then got 3 orders of dumplings to share between 6 people.
The service, food, and ambiance were all outstanding. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!
On a cold, snowy night... Moscow on the Hill really hits the spot with that hearty, comfort food vibe. We've been here a couple of times before for their peasant dumplings, but we decided to try other things tonight and as usual, we're not disappointed. The service is always good. And during this time of year, it's very festive and warmly decorated with Christmas lights and decor. I love it!
