“Whether you are looking for an hour of peace in our currently insane world or you've given up on organized religion because it feels like Christianity has been co-opted by those who practice more hate than love, I encourage you to visit Church of the Apostles. They're easy to spot--they're the ones flying the rainbow flag out front. Love, acceptance, and grace abound there. I've been to churches that said "All are welcome," but didn't really mean it. This church is different. The bulletin every week states "You are welcome regardless of your race, ethnic origin, age, gender, marital status, sexual identity, physical or mental ability, economic condition, or any particular element that makes you human. We honor your presence." And they do.”

“2nd visit with my family Augustine and Ramona. My daughters couldn't believe how friendly everyone was. The Easter brunch was a great idea and a nice touch to break the ice and mingle with other congregants. Nice service...too cold inside so had to go to car and get wraps for kids and mother. Will visit again when in town.”

“I just love the special, beautifully restored church that has so much charm and history. My mother grew up going to this little church every Sunday, as did her father in the early 1900's. My mother and father were married in this little church in 1958! My mother passed a little over a year ago (Alice Frischmon-Hamilton, love and miss you!) and I am so grateful she is resting in peace in the beautiful cemetery here, rich in my family history and roots. I love the peaceful, spiritual serenity I feel when I visit the cemetary and original church built over 120 years ago! I would like thank everyone who put so much time, labor of love and money into the restoration of the old church. It is so enjoyed and appreciated by myself and many others.. It truly is one of my favorite places to visit regularly.. THANK YOU ST. JOE'S!!! The staff at St. Joe's has always been so kind, helpful and caring! Thank you Barb & Darlene in the office and a BIG thank you to Terry, for taking such great care of the cemetary grounds and for the ongoing extra effort with keeping the old church open.. You were such a big part of the old church getting restored and i along with many others, are forever grateful..”

“A good friend of ours was excited about Bethesda Church moving to Prior Lake as he had family there, and he wanted us to come along with him. So, when the church moved in, I decided to help them, which was a good way to meet the people. Right away I liked the idea of having adult Sunday school where we really dig deep into the Bible. I also joined a weekly Bible study where I got close to several people who became good, lifelong friends. In less than a year my wife told me that she wanted this to be our new church, and we have been here for about 16 years now. The Gospel of Grace in our worship, Bible studies, and small groups continue to be a big part of our lives.”

“I've had the pleasure of co-leading a service activity at Elim Lutheran Church for two years during its day of service in September. The pastors and church members were so welcoming and enthusiastic about the project we did: cutting donated jeans into pieces that will be made into shoes for children with jiggers living in Uganda, Africa. We also made health care kits that will be distributed with the shoes. Elim also offers a Green Grocery Share program to help those who are struggling to make ends meet. Each week, they provide $25 worth of coupons to use on whatever produce, meat, or other items they want at the Scandia Farmers Market. For those who are experiencing financial challenges, this is such a valuable program. Elim Lutheran Church is an asset to Scandia and the surrounding communities!”

“Faith Fellowship Church has been my home for as long as I can remember. As a recently graduated college student, I don’t know what I’d do without the prayers and support of my family at Faith. The worship is filling and the preaching and teaching is always rooted in God’s word. Faith is home.”

“It appears that NorthStar Regional hasn’t had an actual-factual review for the suffering addict to use as a guide to decide if it’s the right fit for their needs. _______________________________________ ***Lodging Services*** This review considers NorthStar Regional’s Intensive Out-Patient w/Lodging program. This is a 6 month program with 3 phases. If you choose to live on site, it will be in one of three buildings- “Mansion” “Bank” “Barn” Most likely you’ll have a roommate. The restroom facilities are in a single location for each building. The showers are quite nice and things are kept pretty dang clean. You are expected to do your assigned chores- it’s your home. The lounge areas are awesome with big TVs, a fireplace and comfortable couches/chairs. You’ll have refrigerator space and cabinet space for your personal food items. Speaking of food- this place is way above average when it comes to dining. Large portions and small “salad bar” for each meal with cereal/bread/ and other condiments available 95% of the time. The only bummer is the rather short window of time you’ll have for each meal- if you miss it you’re out of luck. _______________________________________ ***Medical/Nursing*** This place is great for people with more complicated medical needs- aka they are equipped to handle clients who are on medications that would make them ineligible for many other outpatient programs, such as House of Hope (not recommended btw). Buprenorphine or “Suboxone” friendly. _______________________________________ ***Programming and Staff*** I haven’t had a single unpleasant experience when dealing with various staff members from the lowliest “tech” on to upper management. During my intake process, John, the program director, personally helped me finish when something came up and the normal staff was going to be delayed. That set the tone for the level of quality I’ve come to expect from the staff. My counselor has been great, and I’d like to give Amanda a HUGE shout out for helping me immensely. She’s a freaking champ and deserves a raise. To keep this from going on and on forever- I’ll finish by saying that the group time I’ve spent here so far with just a single full week in has easily been more fruitful for my recovery than an entire month of group therapy I’ve had elsewhere (ahem, Fountain Centers…) _______________________________________ Definitely give this place a call and look into it further- they will gladly help you find the right level of care and you CAN beat this awful disease. A moment of silence for the addict suffering and those we will lose tonight. _______________________________________”
