Quincy Park Rink

Address: 10601 Quincy Blvd NE, Blaine, MN 55434, USA

Park

“Most of the rinks in the area have side walls, making them ideal for hockey. This is a flat part of the park which happens to freeze well enough that it can be cleared to make an ice rink. It's not fancy, but it's effective. There's also a warning house. It's not the smoothest ice, so probably not ideal for beginners”

Wayside Park

Address: 11835 168th St W, Lakeville, MN 55044, USA

Park

“Nice link to trails”

Riverview Heights Park

Address: Fridley, MN 55432, USA

Park

“I have been visiting this park more often lately. Its one of my favorites in the area. Along the river and towards the south end of the park there was a huge dead tree. It looks as if a person took a vacation day from work and brought a double sided axe and a pouch of long leaf chewing tobacco down and felled that tree square into the river. I wonder who would have done such a thing?”

South Lake Virginia Shores Park

Address: 6745 Smithtown Rd, Excelsior, MN 55331, USA

Park

“Very cute spot for fishing but needs a serious clean up and garbages should be put near the boat launch. I spent a good hour picking up plastic bait bags... Tackle trash and a huge tangled mess of fishing line woven in and around every rock down the rock wall. Felt good to get as much of it cleaned up as I did but there's still much more.”

Jenny Lind Community Garden

Address: 1053 51st Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55430, USA

“Well maintained raised garden plots make it easier to garden. A small shed contains tools, seeds and Informative handbooks available to the gardeners. Water is accessible for all the plots. Gardeners meet during the season to exchange info and tips. Any excess produce is taken to a local food shelf.”

Little League Park

Address: 730 113th Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434, USA

Park

“There's no basketball hoop but there are two baseball fields and a playground for kids with a section for toddlers, and a couple of fields. The creek nearby is pretty but smells like sewage. This park is great and mostly has nice people, but I have had a couple of weird run-ins. There was a homeless woman staying in the porta potty. I was scared to death to check on her because I was always afraid she wouldn't be breathing anymore but one day I came back and she was gone and her clothes and personal items including a purse and tampons were scattered throughout the porta potty and spilling out into the grass just outside of the porta potty. My family also went to this park and had a weird run in with a couple that seemed to be intoxicated. I've also noticed that people smoke weed in the back parking lot but they have been chill about it and haven't bothered anyone. When I walk by they smile and wave. I've had my dogs off leash here and haven't had hardly any issues. I did have Blaine PD stop and explain that the dog should be on a leash but they respected that I was out exercising my dog and that they were just doing their job. Blaine PD hangs out at this park off and on and I have always had pleasant interactions with them. For the most part this park has been great, but I do get nervous sometimes walking the trails since they are closed in by trees. I try not to have a routine so that no bad guys can pick up on my habits and follow me back there.”

Baker Outdoor Learning Center

Address: 4001 County Rd 24, Maple Plain, MN 55359, USA

Park

“Recently attended firearms safety training weekend here with my son. What a great experience! What set the class apart were the two main "teachers", Ryan and Chad. They were very knowledgeable and engaging with the kids and adults. It was just the right amount of indoor vs outdoor activities to keep the kids engaged and having fun. The lodge and food were great and the cabins were excellent. My only two suggestions were the bathroom in the lodge had an odd odor all weekend that should be addressed and some longer breaks (20-30 min vs 10) would have been nice throughout the day. Overall it was a great experience that I would highly recommend.”

Lake Fishing Pier

Address: Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, Chanhassen, MN, Excelsior, MN 55331, USA

Park

“Love to bring my dog over here to swim! Lots of aquatic plants and fish visable from the shore and the dock!”

Bandimere Heights Park

Address: 9290 Kiowa Trail, Chanhassen, MN 55317, USA

“Fantastic little hidden gem (not easily seen from the road - so gives it a little extra privacy - and less likely to be crowded). I love that it has two different sets of playgrounds (see photos) for different age groups, and lots of mature trees for some extra shade on a hot day. My kids are excited to go back and explore "the tunnels" again. - Katharina Locke President of MOMS Club(R) of Shakopee and Prior Lake”
