“Great place to visit. The sculptures are cool. WARNING! Ground squirrels have made holes that are hidden and could cause a broken ankle or fall so watch your step! I didn't deduct stars because that comes with the territory of being in nature.”

“This DNR Scientific and Natural Area (SNA) preserves a unique sand prairie. Few pristine prairie remnants are left in Minnesota and fewer still in the Twin Cities area. Typical prairie species are found here (such as little bluestem, lead plant, wild rose) but also species that thrive in very dry soils such as needle grasses, hairy puccoon, and spiderwort. The prairie is also blanketed in poison ivy so if you are sensitive, take precautions.”

“Moderate size playground equipment, mostly targeted to younger kids - nothing too fancy or unique as far as the equipment itself goes, but again, it seems mostly targeted toward younger kids. Not a whole lot in way of shade, though but there is a little pavillion with two picnic tables underneath it. Full size basketball court and a softball diamond. Tons of open grassy space to run around and play in. There is no public restroom building, just a port o potty.”

“If you take the nature trail, which runs through the interior of the park, you'd be challenged to know you're in the heart of the city. Lovely and peaceful.”

“This is one of me and my boys favorite place to visit close to the cities. It has a few animals inside the Nature Center, including turtles, snakes, a bald eagle, barn owl, and red tail hawk. The trails are easy and would be a good hike for children. The views are wonderful overlooking the St. Croix River at a few overlooks and you can actually go right down to the river as well.”

“This Trail is absolutely beautiful. The whole Lebanon Hills Regional Park area is an absolute gem tucked away. I love how in Minnesota that you can find places like this hidden in the suburbs. I'm easy to please with Parks and Trails but this is by far the best I've seen that's close to the cities. If you remotely enjoy walking do yourself a favor and explore this place. (I can't wait to knock out all the other trails at Lebanon out this year)”

“A pretty large area with trails running through it. With 8+ cars in the parking area, I only saw 2 other people the whole time. The outer loop in the park was about 2.5 miles after checking out a few of the offshoot trails that lead the road. A lot of off leash dogs around and that seemed like a friendly thing. Also a place for kids to run around. There are little pockets of woods, but most of this area is open and grassy. Not something I would consider a destination park, but really nice open space to get outside. No facilities or playground of any kind other one garbage can.”

“Amazing and easy trail!! Lots of wildlife to see! We saw a fawn, red squirrels, rabbits, cardinals, bluebirds, goldfinch, and a muskrat. There are plenty of "rest areas" along the trail - some with bathrooms and many with air stations on plus tools. We didn't make it the full stretch but hope to work our way to do the roundtrip endeavor. It was a great way to spend a hot summer day! ***Important info: Bring $5 for a daily trail pass and plenty of water/snacks - there were no spots to get water the 9 miles we rode on the trail."***”

“Remember when this park first was dedicated in 1967. The field facing south was where we played baseball every day during the summer with some days up to 30 kids playing in those games. what memories. lit firecrackers off in the park every 4th of July...got chased by the Edina police for doing so. Those were the days! Former Jackson Avenue kid.”
