KC is very fortunate to have this place! Thelma's never disappoints when it comes to food, and I have always left full and satisfied. Whether you want a hot entree (which switches daily with the exception of Tenderloin Tuesday) or a sandwich, all dishes come with a soup, side, dessert, and drink. All the food is fresh and homemade, and the price point is very reasonable for all the food you receive.
I love Thelmas. I eat here almost everyday of the week. You can volunteer for 30 minutes to receive a meal that is equal to a 4 star restaurant. The ambience here is very energetic with enjoyable patrons to the establishment. You receive a dessert with every meal. Let me tell you that the apple dumpling with Carmel sauce is off the hook. With the banana bread pudding as my 2nd favorite dessert. The establishment is clean and the vibes of being at home in your momma's kitchen.
Thelma's is my preferred go to for lunch on weekdays. There are several choices on the build-a-plate menu. Everything I've ordered has been delicious. The suggested price is very reasonable & all-inclusive at $7. Pay a little extra if you can. Eat for less if you are short on $. They are celebrating their first anniversary (8/19). Do it - enjoy a great lunch while supporting this non-profit!
This place is so awesome, it's a home cooked gathering place for the affluent and downtrodden alike. You pay what you are able and if you have no money they'll have you pick up litter from the parking lot or clear a few tables and feed you for that. The food is very tasty also. Love this place.
Great dishes offered here. If you are less fortunate you can volunteer some time and enjoy an amazing meal. If you are fortunate you can pay for a meal well worth the price... Tuesdays they got fried pork tenderloin, bring your heart and your appetite.
