First time here while I'm in town visiting KC. The service was so exceptional (shout out Anna and Annika) that I just had to sit down and write a review! Beautiful architecture, free parking, and GREAT SERVICE!
I love this place, I get their coffee 3-5 times a week and it is phenomenal every time; the people working are also extremely friendly without fail. I recently went for the factory tour and it was interesting. The gentleman giving the tour and brewing demonstrations appeared to be high school aged but had the knowledge of a much older and more experienced expert. Can't recommend highly enough.
Long time coffee subscriber of The Roasterie, from Texas. Looking to leave a review for the subscription service. Tried the top 3 popular online coffee subscription services recently, but switched right back to The Roasterie, because we know what we're getting and it's amazing. Our mainstay is Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, but love the variety of options to branch out.
Was surprised by my girlfriend with a trip to KC and and a tour of this in-house coffee roaster. I thought I knew a lot about coffee, but the gentleman that was our tour guide was able to nerd out with us and answer the very specific questions we asked, proving I didn’t really know as much as I thought. He was very friendly and professional. At the end of the tour, we learned how different brew methods make the same coffee taste different, side by side. If you want to nerd out about coffee, drink some damn good coffee, and see a plane randomly in the middle of KC, then The Roasterie Cafe is your place. I highly recommend.
If your visiting, this is a REALLY fun place to check out. There is tons of local products and such that can be purchased or eaten as a souvenir.
There's lots of seating and the coffee is pretty decent.
There are better places, like Messengers downtown, but I'd say The Roasterie is in the top 5 coffee shops in the area.
My only complaint is that the mens bathroom stall wouldn't flush and it was pretty disgusting, hence the minus one star.
PHONE: 816-931-4000. After the hour-long tour, guests can unwind and enjoy a cup of The Roasterie's finest at The Factory Café. And no trip to The Roasterie's Factory location is complete without snapping a picture of the vintage DC-3 aircraft that crowns the roof, perched for takeoff.
