“This is our neighborhood park, and we spend a lot of time there. It has four tennis courts and four pickle ball courts, all recently refinished. It also has about 1/3 of a mile walking trail, two or three open acres of grass great for soccer or frisbee or kites, a playground, and a shelter. The playgrounds is not great for toddlers but fun for five and up. It does have baby swings.”

“We were amazed by the remote and quiet feel of the park while being close to the attractions. We planned to spend two nights but ended up adding another night. We did have to do some leveling but it was worth it. Just a warning...the staff is super friendly. You may not make it to your campsite. :)”

“This is the south most entrance to the Blue River Parkway Trails. There is only room for one car to park to the left of the road without blocking the utility access road. A truck with good clearance could park to the right of the road. You'll find the Wagon Loop trail head to the left as you are coming to the end of the gravel road. The trail's left, west, branch follows the river. The wooded picture shows where the east trail branch merges with a high line access road. Keep to the right of the access road to pick the trail back up. There are a lot of ticks in the area as of May 28, 2018.”

“Very nice place to see Blue Springs Lake and perhaps fish a bit. This area is very well kept up and if you haven't yet visited Blue Springs Lake you are missing out on a hidden gem of a lake.”

“I've walked the trail often but hadn't been out there for a few months. While the temperature was 98 it was still active among the critter community. (Bugs and Butterflys) There's plenty of color around the trail and plenty of sun is that's your preference. There are shaded areas of the trail as well. It's not completely flat but not overwhelming so it's a great path to walk at your leisure or at a fast pace. Bring a camera if time permits. There's simple beauty there.”

“There are several places to park along the way to the trail head in the southern part. The trail follows the path into Longview lake and is partially paved. The surface is best for trail bikes and mountain bikes, as well as runners and walkers. There are benches along the trail as well as tables if you need to rest or just stretch for example. Bring your own water. I didn't see any water stations. There may be running water near the restrooms but I didn't check. For what we use it for, trailhead access, it's a great place to start.”

“This is a really cool park. It has play area for the kids in the center, different exercises machines around the outer ring from the pay area, a couple picnic tables, a ping pong table and a couple chess tables.”

“Every year we try to make it out to see the lights but the last few years it's a traffic jam way before entering the park. Curious with their popularity growing why there's not a separate entrance and exit. Not fun to sit for an hour or more and have lights shining in your eyes from vehicles behind you and traffic leaving. If it wasn't a tradition our boys love we'd stay closer to home instead of making the drive.”

“The park provides access to the river and to the Trails across the bridge immediately to the east. There are good fishing access trails to the left of the fishing/boating access ramp. The ramp is at the end of the road leading into the park.”

“Great walking trail and park. I do wish that they would fix the 'old' water fountain. It is much more conveniently placed than the 'new' one which is way over by the bathrooms.”

“Longview Funeral Home was very helpful. They weren't pushy but gave guidance when asked. My husband looked so good. Not alot of makeup like I've seen at some. They were there for me and my sons for whatever we needed. The service went smoothly. I highly recommend them. Funeral was 5/20/2017.”
