“I have seen both my parents to their passing and have appreciated the help and support of hospice care. Through these situations I've dealt with three different providers, and Ascend was truly the best. They stepped in and helped me with my dad when he returned to his nursing home after a six week stay in the hospital due to covid 19. Their care lifted him in every way and he ended up improving so miraculously that he went off hospice after six months. About nine months later as he declined, I needed hospice assistance again. Sadly, the nursing home would only let me use a certain company that their new owner allowed. I don't think this is technically legal, but it ended up being the last day of my dad's life and I did not want to spend time distracted from him. Before knowing this I had contacted Ascend for help, and they were ready. Then I had to go with a different company, whose name I can't even recall. Despite this, Ascend offered me encouragement by phone and even sent a very thoughtful condolence card after my dad passed. It has now been six months, and I keep a short stack of cards that were especially meaningful. As I reread the Ascend card today, I realized I want to share my experience for others who may be selecting support during a difficult time. Your loved one's needs as well as your own will be met in the best way if you choose Ascend.”

“The resort was beautiful and clean. The grounds were well manicured and the beach was clean. They offered daytime and night time activities. There were at least 2 shows each night. The food was delicious, there are 7 restaurants and a food truck. The room was nice and clean, all the food and drink items in the room are yours to eat and drink and they will restock them daily. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly and tentative to our needs. The drinks came in a variety and were strong. We will definitely be going back. The trip was relaxing and much needed. “I was hesitant to book a room here with all the terrible reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Our room was nice and clean. The bedding was in great shape, clean and the bed was not bad at all, even with me already having back issues. Staff was pleasant and courteous. The complimentary breakfast was better than most offer recently including hot waffles. Don't let the bad reviews, particularly the older ones, fool you. This place has been nicely renovated and in this price range is one of the best places I've stayed in recent years.”

“My daughter has been enrolled at Burke since 1st grade. The first week was very hard to say the least!! Her two front teeth were knock completely loose by a 5th grade boy who punched her on the bus. Furious I went up to the bus barn that night and was VERY impressed! The child was expelled from the bus the remainder of the year. The following morning I brought the incident to the attention of Dr. Camp the principal. The child was not 11 yet so we were unable to file charges against him, he was suspended from school. I have full faith in the administration at Burke! They have a 0 tolerance policy they stick to. My child has thrived there and has been in the accelerated program every year. This year she will be able to take part in their Compus program!! Great school, amazing administration!! The children just need better rearing at home! You can't expect them to make bruised fruit shiny and new again they can only patch what has already been broken!!! STOP BLAMING THE SCHOOLS FOR POOR PARENTING!!!”
